Geez: Vietnam has a SERIOUS history of war. This sometimes-brutal Hanoi museum chronicles several centuries of Vietnamese warfare in a propagandist mode, focusing particularly on the liberation struggle against the French, and the tragic American War. Signs on exhibits like, "This knife was used to kill a traitor" at times seem needlessly brutal, but it's an interesting place to learn about the horrors that have made, in part, modern Vietnam what it is today. The sculptures of war wreckage and retired military jets and tanks also manage to be thoroughly interesting, though this isn't the achievement that the War Remnants Museum in Saigon manages to be.
