We had tickets for the last supper and had time to kill before our timed entry. This place is 5 minutes walk away. It was around lunchtime and the place filled up with locals soon after we had arrived. We only had coffees but there is a good range of snacks. Panini seemed to be popular. It's a nice atmosphere but it's pretty small.

    5/5Outstanding

We ate here last night and loved it. The decor is chic and the food is excellent. Best pasta dish after 2 week stay in Italy including Parma and Bologna. Very arty and fun place with a lively crowd. Service was friendly, helpful and all we could hope for. Wished I could go more often. Thank you Tomassi for a memorable evening-hats off.

If you've arrived in good time for your appointed slot to view the (underwhelming IMHO) Last Supper and are wondering where to eat then walk 500 metres down the Via Fratelli Ruffini just off the Piazza where you will come to another Piazza. The restaurant is on the far side. It serves a wide selection of 7 - 8 Euro paninis with the freshest ingredients alongside a cold beer if you want one. The menu gives you a breakdown of how and where all the various Italian meats are made and sourced which was highly informative. Lardo for instance isn't just lard but is a very fatty form of bacon. They also do salads and burgers and you could prop up their bar if you wanted to. The crowd seemed to be mostly local but they were very welcoming. I enjoyed my Panini so much that I had another one on the walk back to the Last Supper
