Taqin Review

Tartchin is 4,600 meters above sea level, which is the camp and starting and ending point of the mountain. The mountain-turning people from afar will prepare here before they return and will rest here after returning. The town has many places to stay, mostly simple.

Tachin is an important transit station for Ali. Generally, going to Gang Rinpoche to the mountain will take Tachin as the starting point and end point. It is also very convenient to go to the holy lake Ma next to the wrong and the ghost lake Laang wrong, and you can also overlook the beautiful Namnani Peak. It only takes 4 hours from Taqin to Shiquan River, and you can also go to the Guge Dynasty ruins and Tomlin Temple on the way. To Taqin, you need to apply for a border defense certificate. The border defense certificate can only be written in Ali area. The accommodation in Taqin is very expensive and the accommodation conditions are very poor. There is only a relatively good hotel, which is often full. The beds in a very simple small hotel are usually more than 200 yuan. The food is basically shipped from Shigatse on the Lhasa River, so it is also very expensive. Only mid-April to late October is provided with accommodation, after this season, Tachin is basically no one, all shops and hotels are basically closed. If you come to Taqin to turn the mountain, you need to buy tickets first when entering Taqin Town, the ticket is 200 yuan, and then cover the A chapter. After hiking from the starting point of the mountain, there will be many checkpoints to check whether the A chapter has been stamped, and then cover the B chapter for you to continue to turn the mountain. The main transportation to Tachin is chartered. It is generally 2 to 3 days to drive from Lhasa to Tachin. Generally, if you go all the way, you can go to Everest Base Camp first. If you take the bus, there is a shuttle bus from Shigatse Bus Station to Shiquan River, passing by Taqin, leaving at about 12 noon every day, experiencing 20 hours to reach Taqin, and arriving at Shiquan River the next morning. If you want to take the bus from Tachin back to Lhasa, you generally need to reserve a phone reservation with the driver in advance, or find the hotel owner in Tachin to contact the shuttle bus, but most tourists will still choose to fight off-road vehicles to return to Lhasa or simply charter a car to take the Ali Dabei Line.

When the road conditions are right, Taqin has to receive many pilgrims, so there is no shortage of restaurants and hotels, and the conditions are relatively general. There is no shuttle bus to Taqin. Travel is mainly chartered. Free-riding is generally mainly by truck. It takes about 50-100 yuan to come from Shiquan River, and 50-80 yuan to come from Pulan. If you want to take an off-road vehicle, you have to take a chance and wait.

Tachin, meaning "big jingqi", is a more messy village at the foot of the mountain. If you don't plan to visit the mountain, you don't have to come here to stay. In Tachin, you can't see the mountain, but it is a good place to enjoy the Himalayas' fifth peak, Namunani, whether it is sunrise or sunset, it is so magnificent. There are many dogs in the village, be careful at night.
