Taizhao Ancient City is located on the left side of National Highway 318 from Lhasa to Nyingchi. Every time you pass, the tourist car will stop for everyone to visit the ancient city. The ancient city is not big, sparsely populated, and not lively, but the mountains, rivers, willows, archways, and temples show the glory of the past. At the end of Qing Dynasty, the Qing government established Taizhaozong here. At that time, there were a large population, bustling towns, and shops. There were famous Xiaobajiao Street and four incense-rich temples. Since ancient times, there have been four roads in Tibet - Qingzang West Road, Qingzang Middle Road, Qingzang East Road, Sichuan-Tibet Road. All three roads except the Qinghai-Tibet Western Road pass through Taizhao, which is a major town for Tibetan economy, culture and transportation in late Qing Dynasty.
