I knew it would be great when I walked in and saw the shaved Iberian ham with the pig leg of the Manchegg cheese feast starter. The pork shoulder meat we ordered and the seafood lobster paella were amazing. Adding this place to my DC list must try restaurants. < < < > >

We loved Spain and this restaurant is very close to Madrid restaurants. They were very careful with seafood and the salmon was fine and full of flavor. Although I rarely order chicken in the restaurant, this roasted half was great. We went with garlic tarpa shrimp, sangrí and rice pudding desserts. < < > >.

Have been eating at this miracle for three years. They have always maintained the highest standards. The dishes are excellent (my favorite is the lobster paella), but often for lunch snacks are the best in their town. In addition to immediately bringing you back to the Spanish environment, their staff are genuine professionals (not night servicers, as most restaurants do now); they are polite, efficient and always helpful. They often recognize guests through face and name recognition and immediately take care of them. Thank you team!

Readers may remember my criticism of roast pig last year, especially in September. The manager apologised and asked for a rematch. They delivered last night! Except the perfect service and atmosphere of pork was spot on. Four people attended our party. Manzanilla (Shirley) was perfect. This is a typical old world dining facility. Sadly, they have to tolerate American tourists in T-shirts and shorts with tenacity. This restaurant should be better. Don’t miss this venue. It’s expensive, but cheaper than flying to the flagship store in Seville. Buen Provecho!

It was an institution in Washington, DC, and even during the week at the restaurant, it didn't disappoint, their menu, delicious food and service were all satisfactory. I went there with three other friends and it was a real treat. When you walk into this place, you feel like you're flying to Europe, in some Spanish-style restaurants. The tables are far apart and the linen is crisp. You greet him immediately to provide you with a water selection server and ask if you want a drink.
The Restaurant Week menu is quite full and has a few additional options.
The bread and olive oil bring delicious food.
First we ordered Spanish cold vegetable soup, two grilled octopus potato salad and chicken pea and garlic spinach salad.
We ordered pork spine and bacon and Mojo the main course of the potato, two crabs " txangurro " pancakes in vegetable and seafood soup, grilled salmon and salmon and sweet potatoes.
For dessert we have 3 catalanas krema (Spanish cream Brulee) and a red ice cream cake.
Everything is delicious and wonderful service.>This is a sleeper restaurant that has been in DC for many years and it is usually overlooked by critics and tourists. If you live in DC or are visiting, it should be a place you should not miss.

We just returned from Spain for two weeks. We fell in love with the food there, so we looked at the Spanish restaurant in DC and found the del alabardero tavern. We ordered Spanish cold vegetable soup, watermelon salad and ham, &Galicician squid. We thought we were back in Spain because the food was so good. Sanglia was delicious too (although I was a little disappointed with the fruit drink with the food, no apple or orange slices - a small detail missing). Service was also very popular. We didn’t lack anything. I mentioned dinner as a birthday celebration and they invited us for a glass of foam and dessert. Our first experience there was not our last!

This is a great restaurant. As a European, you will appreciate the food, wine and atmosphere. Staff are attentive and capable. The food is outstanding because you won't get a lot of service in changing. The restaurant's menu – tasting food and wine – is treat. Worth a visit!
