St. Gills Cathedral is a place of worship for the Presbyterian Church in Scotland. It has been a religious hub in Edinburgh for 900 years. It is also known as Westminster Monastery in Scotland. Its unique Scottish crown spire constitutes a prominent feature of the Edinburgh skyline. There is a life-size statue of John Knox at the entrance of the church. He was a priest from 1559 to 1572. Knox issued an uncompromising Calvinist declaration at St. Ellis Cathedral and launched the Scottish Reform Movement. The church is free to visit, but if you want to take a picture, you need to pay 2 pounds, and then the staff will stick a sticker on your clothes to prove it. Someone in the church plays the piano on the spot. The beautiful music echoes in the church. People can't help stopping, sitting down, closing their eyes and indulging in it.
