St Bartholomew's Hospital Review

A small but professional museum located in the area of the historic St. Bartholomew Hospital. In the Middle Ages, more people were gathered with the poor and homeless, and the role of hospitals expanded with the practice of medicine, as demonstrated by many exhibits.

The hospital was founded by Henry I and is now about 500 years old, but the site has been destroyed in history, and it is now rebuilt to include museums, theatres and the library of St. Bartholomew.

St. Bartholomew's Museum is an interesting but undervalued part of London, which tells the history of hospitals. It involves the history of pharmacy, surgery, nursing, etc. Near St. Bartholomew, the museum is free. You can visit it before visiting St. Paul's Cathedral.

St Bartholomew's Hospital is one of the earliest hospitals in Europe, built in 1123, and the oldest hospital in the UK still on its original site. There is now a museum. In Holmes's original and BBC episodes, it is an important place to promote the plot.

I don’t have a special feeling for St. Bartholomew Hospital. I just drove by, but as one of the landmarks, it is worth passing by.
