The marketing of "see Pingyao again" is very good. Advertisements can be seen everywhere and tickets can be bought everywhere. All the advertisements put the name of director-in-chief Wang Chaoge (representative works of the famous "Impression West Lake" and other impression series) in a prominent place. I have to say that this is the main driving force driving me to see the play, although I had never heard of such a play before I went to Pingyao. Unlike the previous impression series, "and" moved the performance to a huge theatre outside the ancient city (the Theatre building itself is very distinctive and in harmony with the environment), and moved indoors. Later, I checked some information and found out that the director was not suitable for outdoor performances in winter in the north, which was very careful. Pingyao's charm lies in its humanistic spirit, architecture and natural scenery. If we copy the impression series in the background of mountains and rivers, the expression techniques of melting feelings into scenery may be more limited. I think one of the most commendable aspects of the play is the innovation of the audience's appreciation. Generally speaking, the theatre is for the audience to sit and watch, and bring the audience into different scenes through the change of stage effect. The whole theatre is divided into different scenes according to the plot, each scene is not only the stage, but also the auditorium; the audience is not only the viewer, but also the participant of the performance, which is an indispensable part of the play. In each scene (maybe a yard, maybe a street), the audience can walk freely, interact with the actors and enjoy the performance in the way they like. The director will also control the rhythm of the story according to the situation, such as changing the stage for the audience and the time for the actor to prepare for the stage, and allowing the audience to spend a little time to appreciate the scene and increase the sense of presence in the gap between the performances. This way of expression can be replicated (I don't know which other play is the same, if there is one, I would like to experience it), but this play is not replicable, it can only be performed in Pingyao. How could it be possible to move a theatre building and finally tell a story? The story is simple. Zhao Yishuo, a businessman from Pingyao, devoted all his wealth to his righteousness and asked his bodyguard to rescue Wang Jiaye, who was kidnapped to Russia. At last, more than 200 people died in other places and only returned to Wang Jiaye alone, so that Wang's blood could be continued. I think this kind of story is the simplest and easy to move. There are not too many cultural barriers. It's suitable for all ages and not for audiences. The first half of the whole play is very good, especially the first part (or Act I), which can bring the audience into the era of the play at once. In the middle part, there is a story about Zhao Dongjia's wife selection. The scene is more beautiful (I can't find any other words to describe it, gentle,). I don't know why to set up such a plot that jumps away from the theme. In my personal understanding, it is to please the audience and leave a little more talk for the audience, so I feel a little overdone. The last part, that is, the part of the Queen's family seeking roots, is the sublimation of the whole drama's emotions. The plot is relatively weak. It basically touches the audience by repeating some deep (or emotional) pronunciation. A person with a low tear point may be moved to tears by this overloaded positive energy.
