The Basílica de la Sagrada Família is an unfinished large Roman Catholic church in the Barcelona expansion area of Catalonia, Spain. Designed by Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi (1852), Gaudi devoted the rest of his life to the project, and by the time he died in 1926, less than a quarter of the construction was completed. Construction of the Sagrada Familia, which relies entirely on private donations, is slow, and the building is expected to be completed by 2026, the centenary of Gaudi's death, but has now been postponed.
