The ground is well maintained and the palace gives a colonial feel. However, some parts of the palace need to be overhauled: leaking ceilings, aging wallpaper, etc. What I like is the pictures that decorate the walls; these pictures depict all the kings of Malaysia since independence. While I was there, Balairong seri (main auditorium) was closed for maintenance, so I can't comment on this exhibition hall. It was a good photo opportunity (outside, no photos inside). The room was beautifully decorated and displayed many photos of kings and visiting dignitaries. Photos show many kings and friends playing golf! It’s a place worth visiting, but be aware that the entrance is adjacent to a freeway with no pedestrian access. When we left, we asked the ticket office staff to call a taxi, but that request didn’t materialize. After 30 minutes, an employee kindly called a taxi for us but we didn’t have a Malay number. Don’t get stuck here!
