The Rodin Museum was founded in 1916 under the initiative of Rodin, and its site is Bihong's mansion and gardens, which Rodin himself personally selected. The house, built in the early eighteenth century, was rented by Rodin since 1908, and Rodin donated his own mansion in Merdon, Villa Brion, to the state, which is now an annex to the museum. Rodin's works, such as The Thinker, Hell's Gate, and Kiss, are on display here, and Rodin's private collections, such as Van Gogh's paintings, are also in the collection.
