磐陀石，位于浙江省舟山市普陀区，上石2.7米，宽近7米，[1]上面的石头体积达40余立方米，与底石相接触的面积仅10余厘米，[2]被誉为“天下第一石”。磐陀石分为磐石和陀石两个部分，磐石是下半部分基石，形状如同一个覆斗，它的上半部分巨石，形状近似橄榄，是陀石。[3]左右悬空，凌空孤峙，石身与底座衔接处间隙如线，似断若连，看似摇摇欲坠，实则稳如磐石，可容30人在上游玩嬉戏。石上有“磐陀石（候继高书）”“金刚宝石”“天下第一石”等题刻，每当夕阳西下，石披金装，环眺山海，景色壮奇，“磐陀夕照”便成为普陀山十二景之一。据说侯将军题字时，大石左右摆动，摇摇欲坠，于是他在石字上加了一点，磐陀石便稳稳当当地固定住了
