Xiamen... Gulangyu... The Organ Museum, located in the Bagua Tower in the northwest of Gulangyu Island, is the only and largest organ Museum in China and the world. Its architecture combines many styles, such as Chinese ancient architecture, Pakistan mosque, Athens temple and Roman church. It is called Bagua Tower because its red dome has eight ridges. It is one of the landmarks of Gulangyu. The original owner of the Bagua Tower was Lin Heshou, the third room of the Linjia family in Banqiao, Taiwan. It was designed by John Yu, an American Dutchman, former president of Gulangyu Salvation Hospital. Yu used some classical architectural styles of Palestan, Greece, Italy and China for reference, and designed this unique antique building which integrates Eastern and Western architectural cultures.
