The National Museum of Phnom Penh was built in 1913. At present, it contains handicraft and sculpture works from the 4th to 10th centuries and Angkor Dynasty, several photographs of Angkor taken by French photographers, and many authentic sculptures of Angkor Wat. Museum is a typical traditional Khmer architectural style of open design, full of exotic flavor. There is a small pavilion in the center, which worships a god, surrounded by four artificial lotus ponds, with grass nurseries and benches alternating. It is like a sound insulation wall, which blocks the noise of the downtown outside the pavilion and allows visitors to enjoy quietly. The name of the exhibition hall of Phnom Penh National Museum is still not remembered. The exhibits are mainly stone sculptures, mainly Buddha statues. Most of them come from Angkor Wat in Siem Reap. There are also some jewelry and bronzes. There is a hall with some wooden seats, carriages. What impressed me deeply was that there were many small blue and red glass grains made of bracelets unearthed with a funeral.

This museum of sandstone statuaries is the largest museum of cultural artifacts in Phnom Penh. @10usd for entrance fee, and centrally located, i consider thia a good deal. You may cap your trip with a nice snack at the museum face. Take note, it's a no drone zone.

The National Museum of Cambodia was built in 1913 and currently houses handicrafts and sculpture art from the 1st century and the Angkor Dynasty, several photos of Angkor taken by French photographers, and many authentic Angkor Wat sculptures. It would be helpful to do your homework before heading to Angkor Wat. The museum is open-plan, beautiful and exotic. A small pavilion was built in the center, offering a statue of a god, surrounded by four artificial lotus ponds, with grass and benches, like a soundproof wall, blocking the hustle and bustle of the downtown outside the pavilion, allowing visitors to visit quietly.

It's a good place to get to now the history and sculpture of the country and their religion. No hat wear and no photo should be taken by a camera but with the mobile phone it's ok. Yes you read correct. This I don't get.And funny thing in some rooms you're not allowed to take pictures of specific things.I was so confused the whole time I didn't know what to do and what not.The building in itself looks fantastic and honestly if you can walk around I think that will make it better.
