The cemetery is also a very commemorative area, and there are commemorative events held here every year. The cemetery is also an open place. Here you can see some Italian style cemetery culture, and it is good to understand the simple history here.

We visited this wonderful museum/cemetery. The only thing I regret is that the time to visit here was too short, and 3 hours passed in a blink of an eye. The statues here must be seen as suffocating. Very moving experience, definitely the highlight of our trip. The only downside is that most of the works are dirty and it is clear that future generations (and local governments) don’t have the money to properly maintain it. Even so, this place is definitely one of the places you have to go to, not the regular tourist attraction.

Genoa|Traveling big coffee has not heard of the humanities and art holy places alone travel girls, like humanities and deep travel obsessive-compulsive disorder to produce dry goods notes, please like and collect empathy ability people need to be psychologically prepared, I organize the pictures when it is really more sorted and sad. Recommended reason Stareno Cemetery, the whole visit process probably met less than ten people (including employees), is a very, very cold place, only a few sculpture art students know. For those who have strong expectations for art and strong empathy, this is definitely a reserved attraction in Italy. It is true that I decided to travel to Italy for this place. Who can not stand the two greatest themes of love and death? I watched the BBC documentary "Wandering World Complex", one of which was entitled "Death". It was scary at first, but martyrdom was romantic. People who were left on earth to commemorate those who left, please visit Italy's best sculptors to create it. The complex feelings of lovers, loved ones, and friends leave are expressed in different ways and themes, and in this way the deceased will never be forgotten. Like the history of art and painting, the sculpture group here has undergone changes because of the change of time. At the beginning, Christian themes were predominant, but at the end of the 19th century, people began to question the resurrection and posthumous world of traditional Christianity, and themes of this period began to show the unease and sadness of death, and I put pictures mainly in this part. Background Brief: The cemetery is located in Genoa, Italy's largest port. Genoa was hit by a devastating blow in the early 19th century, and the city was hit by disease due to improper burial of bodies. To solve this problem, the cemetery of Stareno was opened on January 1, 1851. The cemetery is class-based, and the status of life determines the place of death. The sculptures made by middle-class families for the deceased family members make different shrines to express their love for the deceased. The cemetery covers more than 1 square kilometer and has the finest Italian marble sculptures from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. Ordinary families can also be buried here, but only one tombstone and for ten years, and then will be removed from the largest square hall of the tour route is the most impressive, but also the part of the documentary highlights, first visit here, have the strength to walk around, the whole is quite big. The famous sculpture has a number below, and the official website can view the introduction. Tips: Is it scary? I am a kind of person who never dare to watch ghost movies, watch a tomb stealing note that will be awakened by nightmares in the middle of the night, and I will not feel gloomy when I visit it. I'm really worried about seeing the documentary before deciding. Tour time: a walk or two can only end with a visit to the main hall. But since you can come here for a pilgrimage, it must be for art, two or three hours to get a bottom. I stayed for more than four hours and I was really hungry before I left (I didn't do a good job of strategy before I came, I didn't expect it to be so big here). So I also suggest you bring some food? Or come back after dinner. Genoa (with two views of the city, see the last two pictures): most visitors are actually blank about this Italy. But it is actually a historic ancient city with a lot of cultural heritage and museums to visit, and it is a port city itself. Travel packages, including local transportation and several of the most important attractions to visit, can be purchased locally. Transportation: Google search for Stareno Cemetery, which can be reached by bus from the city, about half an hour's drive to the opposite side of the cemetery. Per capita spending: no opening time: no formal opening and closing, just go during the day.
