Stop on your way to or from Pololu Valley. Good place to get fresh squeezed fruit juice, smoothie, or coconut water straight from the nut. If you are hungry, they have excellent tamales! Closes 3:30 pm, so plan accordingly.

First, I loved the food! If you are looking for formal dining, keep driving. If you want a personal, one of a kind experience, check this place out! All the food is fresh, produce comes locally, not from a store. Entrees served have a Mexican flair and vegetarian options are also available. Giant fresh coconuts are served with a biodegradable straw and when your done, Ren, the owner will cut the fruit in half so you can enjoy the pulp, super refreshing! If you're as lucky as we were, you might get to meet his supplier, Howard, a neighbor who help provide the produce he grows from his back yard!

I love this roadside cafe from the local sourced all fruit smoothies to the local grown avocado used in their guacamole. You can tell everything is made from scratch with love. The banana bread is some of the best I have ever had and during season the mango bread is delightful. Besides great Mexican food they offer a Mac nut garden burger that is off the hook. A new must when you are in the area and a refreshing stop after Pololu valley.

Hidden gem on route to Kohala Forest Reserve Pololu Valley where we were heading for a hike. The hub and I started off with a chicken tamale which was in its husk and sooo very flavorful with just the right amount of bite in it. Followed the tamale with a Macadamia nut veggie burger which I swear was the BEST most FLAVORFUL VB I have ever tasted!!! Hub also loved it!!! If you are a die hard meat eater- you'll be in food heaven with this burger!!! We ended with a chicken enchilada- just perfect!!! We found the the owner Renn- (hope I'm spelling correctly) to be hospitable, he made all the food himself and we spoke for awhile after about local food scene. On our way to leave for the hike Renn said we must make a pit stop at the beach nearby to see a Hawaiian monk seal mother and her new born cub which we were sooo glad he told us!!! Beautiful sea life and wonderful to observe!!! Thank you Renn
