This is another famous grotto in Gansu Province, built in 384-417, famous for its exquisite mud-plastic art, known as the Oriental Sculpture Art Exhibition Hall, where the deep humanistic value makes it a dazzling art pearl on the gold tourism line of the Silk Road. This is Maijishan Grottoes. Maiji Mountain, located in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, is a lonely peak in the west section of Qinling Mountain. In the green, a peak rises alone, and the smoke is lingering. It is named after the mountain shaped like wheat straw. The stone of Maiji Mountain is sand and gravel, which is relatively loose and not easy to carve and mold, so the sculptures of Maiji Mountain Grottoes are mostly mud-plastic. Its mountain slope is steep and the peak stands. In terms of artistic characteristics, Maiji Mountain is famous for its exquisite statues. The earliest excavation period of the grottoes began in 384 AD. Later, after the continuous excavation and re-repair of more than ten dynasties in the Northern Wei, Western Wei, Beizhou, Yi, Tang, Wu Dynasty, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasty, it became a famous large-scale grottoes in China. Maijishan grottoes have also been listed on the World Cultural Heritage List. And Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, Datong Yungang Grottoes, Luoyang Longmen Grottoes are also called the four major grottoes in China.
