Had some beers and a meal here tonite after doing a Trip Advisor search for somewhere to go. We had been in the area for 5 nights and had seen most places and tried a few. Hitch's is 'different' different looking, nice decor and clever use of 'stuff' and stuff. The draught beer was excellent, people don't realise that even lagers need to be looked after, and the pipes, best draught I'd had in Athens. Food was good, different which made it interesting, well presented, very tasty. Service good, prices good. Nice meeting place with lots of comings and goings. Now here's the strange thing, lots of effort into the place, the presentation and the welcome but... The toilet bowls are filthy!! Always makes me wonder about the way an establishment is run, if they can't spend a few moments with a brush and some bleach what else are they missing.... Had I seen the toilets before I'd eaten and had a beer I'd have left... But that's me! Pop in and see if they have cleaned up yet? Enjoyed our visit.



Nice little bar in a forgotten street near the Acropolis museum- staff very friendly and English speaking- nice cocktails and the food is more than ok! Prices are very correct

I wouldn't have found this bar if it hadn't been reviewed online. It is on a back street, in an area near the Acropolis Museum that mostly shuts down after the tourists leave earlier in the evening. This allows it to have a more relaxed, intimate atmosphere. So many bars in the city have booming music, but at Hitchcocktales you can actually hear the people you are talking to! The cocktales are very unusual and creative, many with names from Hitchcock movies. You can even order a mystery cocktail, where you have to guess the ingredients inside. If you do, you get another glass for free! I love Hitchock movies, so I enjoyed chatting with the staff about cinema and theater. Apparently sometimes they have small scale theater productions at the bar. The food is also good. The sesame chicken was really tasty!
