The building area of the exhibition hall is more than 10,000 square meters, and the museum has more than 170,000 cultural relics (sets). Most of the cultural relics in the museum come from archaeological excavations in Shangqiu, Luoyang, Anyang, Kaifeng, Xichuan, Sanmenxia, Huixian, Xinzheng and other places in the early twentieth century. Among them, more than 5,000 cultural relics at the national level and second-level cultural relics are of great value in history, culture and art, and some of the collections are known as the keys of the country. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, some precious cultural relics of the Henan Museum were turned around and finally treasured in the National History Museum of Taiwan.
