I never met a medieval gate that I could resist. I was putty (or something else) on the door. It wasn't a disappointment. What appealed to me was that it had a bell and vane and a bell tower (all added up in telling this great story). The gate is a medieval treasure, and its role in history was to ring the bell to announce the time of grape harvest, while also reminding citizens that fires are raging. It took hundreds of years to restore this function (the focus is on "recovery"). The human spirit is indomitable. It has a bell! How many doors have a clock working properly? This could be our first time. It's also astrological. It's so beautiful. This clock tower may be our first choice for love, with purpose (not just another nice eye candy). But it's really beautiful. We loved the weather vane with an illustration of a British leopard. I didn't know they had a cute leopard in the UK. Bordeaux looked back, cherished the past, and performed well. Many of us will flock (Bordeaux, do you really want this?) to our to-do list, our crutches, selfie sticks, and to-do list for travel. Maybe you all want to reconsider? This bell tower is a great gate. Thank you for sharing your experience.
