The old gate of Galle is a Dutch colonial building, and the new gate is a British colonial building. The old gate is located in the northeast of Galle Old Town. The appearance is relatively dilapidated. The warehouses on both sides of the gate are fortified and bright yellow Mediterranean architecture. The city gate is not big, the upper part is engraved in Dutch VOC(Verenigde Osstindische Compagnie), English means Dutch East India Company, that is, the Dutch East India Company.
