Eglise Saint-Jean-de-Malte Review

The majestic and ancient church of Saint John of Malta is located in the Mazaran district, witnessing the historical, religious and cultural changes in Provence. For a long time in the middle of the Middle Ages, Gothic architecture was not welcome here. In the 12th century, the Hospitaliers built the first Gothic church in Aix on the site of a chapel, and the Gothic style slowly became integrated into the everyday aesthetic concept. The current church bell tower is 67 meters high, preserving the style after the 13th century expansion, is the highest point of Aix. The rose window is simple and elegant, and the sculpture is exquisite and restrained. This church is a gem of Gaul architectural art. It is a 10-minute walk from the train station.
