The Palace of the Governor is a Venetian Gothic-style palace and is one of the main landmarks of the northern Italian city of Venice. The Palace is the residence of the Governor of Venice, the supreme authority of the former Venetian Republic. Founded in 1340 and expanded and modified over the centuries that followed, it became a museum in 1923 and is one of 11 museums run by the Venice Foundation Foundation (Musei Civici di Venezia).
