District Bar Review

The concept of ordering and paying for your food via a computer screen and having the food brought to you was intriguing. With that said - the staff of this location was very overwhelmed and slow. All they really had to do was deliver food and drinks...they did not need to take orders or be overly friendly as not much was expected of them. However - my companion got their food and was done eating it before mine ever arrived at the table. The hamburger was over cooked (very well done...I asked for medium). The fries were cold. HOWEVER - the burger did have good flavors. Others in my group didn't receive their food for over 30 minutes...long after their dining companions had received and eaten their food and were ready to move on. The restaurant was slammed and the kitchen even ran out of hamburgers at some point after my order was placed. But even given this fact - the staff was very slow to respond to requests of more water, behaved as if they couldn't understand what you were asking them when inquiring about where my order was and all in all fairly rude. I also find it off putting when the system asks you to tip your servers before you even met them / are served by them. I felt compelled to give the recommended 18% gratuity for fear of retribution by the kitchen/staff if I didn't. I will likely NOT eat at this location again when traveling through DCA in the future.

Stopped by there before my flight and filled in my order on the iPad, super easy ordering and the only reason this place is getting any stars at all. The first of my surprise was when my veggie sandwich arrived, it was not only completely different from the picture in the menu (burger bun instead of ciabatta & regular mushrooms instead of portobello), but it was incredibly poorly prepared and soaked in butter. Not to mention that it was completely missing the piece of fresh mozzarella in the succulent menu pictures. Not to mention that they also "ran out" of the draft beer another client had ordered and already paid on the iPad. All this to say that based on my experience, you will not get what is in the pictures and this place seems to be prying on travelling clients in a rush who will not fuss about such issues. I will personally never eat there again and advise others to look elsewhere if they need a quick bite before boarding at the DCA Reagan airport.
