On the opposite side of the building is Chuncaotang, the famous home of Xu Chuncao. He participated in the League, Sun Yat-sen awarded him the first-class medal, and also hosted maidservants who could not bear the mistreatment of their masters. Chuncaotang was designed and built by Xu Chuncao himself. It lasted for 35 years. It was built with stones in his spare time for more than 30 years. The courtyard is very well managed. The triangular plums on the wall are in full bloom. I go to the balcony outside to see the sea. The sun is shining brightly. Behind Chuncaotang is the former residence of Xu Feiping, a pianist who died young.
