The tower was built in 1991 and designed and produced by the famous American female sculptor Gegenie Conan. The steel carving is about nine meters high and weighs1.5 tons, the base is 77 cm, 75 cm wide, and the middle is a steel column with a diameter of 55 cm. The tower body was welded into the physical objects of the 3,000 railway road nails that built the railway in that year, connected to the first line and coiled up. The front of the memorial is written in Chinese and English: "The contribution of Chinese road workers is a vital factor in connecting the East and West coasts of the United States and bringing about the reunification of their country. This memorial is shaped by 3,000 nails to recognize their performance, And symbolize the enduring friendship between the people of Izhou and the Chinese people.
