It's true that as a vegetarian I failed to double check that the Alplermakaroni which I ordered did not contain ham. But one would not usually expect it to: I have since checked recipes on the internet and asked my swiss friends. Also there were visual clues suggesting the dish was meat free (eg it was OUTSIDE a section of the menu marked as Fleischgerichte). So what was a genuine misunderstanding sadly turned into an argument as the restaurant staff refused to see my point of view. In the end they grudgingly swapped my 19 buck dish for a plate of chips leaving me feel cheated out of 10 swiss francs. It's clear that in Jatzmeder the customer definitely isn't king. As long as you don't expect anything from the staff and form an orderly line to hand over your money you should do fine though ! Just focus on the nice views or ski down to the restaurant Spina lower down the mountain which is apparently much nicer.
