One of the extra attractions you can visit at Pearl Harbor's beautiful memorial park, the "Mighty Mo" is a truly historic and imposing piece of machinery that is well worth the entrance fee. Guests are invited to take a guided tour of this massive vessel, focusing most on the ship's deck and her array of pulverizing cannons as well as the history behind the Missouri's most well known duty. The site of the official surrender of Japan, and the end of World War II, this hulking device designed to be the ultimate example of over-water destructive force is now memorialized as a location from which peace overcame. I guess you could call that irony since it's an example of how military power can be ultimately a tool for peace rather than only destructive. However you look at it, visiting this memorial is a memorable experience that is definitely worth doing while on Oahu.
