Barrage Vauban Review

One of the best views of Strasbourg definitely belongs to Barrage Vauban with the standing three towers. The best view has to be from the air as always and the best route is above the dam opposite the towers right across. Take the stairs up to the second level and you will be able to see the whole picture. You will be able to view Cathedral Norte Dame from here as well. Be aware that the stairs will closed at 9pm during spring and summer seasons. This area happens to be the best sunset viewing platform as well.

The place is really nice at night, and the changing lighting effects make this barrage particularly beautiful, not only a river project, but also a defensive project in the 17th century, so it has a dual role.

The architect of the dam is called Wobang, this dam is beautifully designed, with sculptures carved inside and outside, a total of three floors, outside with carved arched windows facing both sides, and a viewing platform.

The Vorbonne Barrage, built in 1686-1700 in Strasbourg, France, on the Ile River in Little France, was designed by Sebastian & Le Prestrey & De Vorbonne. He is also a French marshal and a famous military engineer. The Fortress Buildings he designed and built are listed as World Heritage Sites. The natural scenery around the dam is beautiful, so you can choose the viewing platform on the top to overlook the beautiful scenery in the distance.

The Wabon Barrage is a water conservancy facility in Strasbourg with a history of more than 500 years.
