浚县古城是河南省唯一的县级国家历史文化名城， 境内有名胜古迹300多处，大部分位于古城内，其中国家级重点文物保护 单位1处10项、省级重点文物保护单位5处11项、市县级重点文物保护单位95处，优秀历史建筑单体及院落44项，重要城市历史环境要素及遗迹、遗存13项。该项目的策划、规划、开发坚持有效保护与合理利用历史文化资源，有利于提升城市形象和文化品位，提升城市的综合竞争力，对河南省乃至全国其它历史文化名城的旅游保护工作起到借鉴作用，前景十分看好。 2019年12月6日被评为国家4A级景区。

浚县古城“襟山带河”自古闻名，素有“南京到北京，比不上浚县城”之说。据资料记载，城区内现存的浚县古城始建于明洪武三年（1370），起初城垣只有东、南、北三面，西以卫河为险阻。

The city wall of Jixian County, located in Jixian County, Hebi City, Henan Province, China, is currently in the Weihe River along the city wall (768 meters long) and the remnants of the city wall on the south side of Gushan (only aloft soil).
