Having read reviews and being a non-Italian speaking Brit I was curious how no menus would workout. Good news they now have menus with Italian and English. I'm guessing it was Roberto that created me and in broken English and pointing at recommendations on the menu I was soon ordering. The service was very friendly and the staff very patient as I muddled my way through the evening. Don't be fooled by the modest portion sizes. The food is very traditional hearty and rich you will soon be comfortably full before dessert has crossed your mind. If your in the area make time to visit. You won't be disappointed. :)

We were staying at the Holiday Inn and decided to try this place based upon all the rave reviews - we did not regret it. The restaurant is cozy and quaint, which gives it a very local and welcoming vibe. The chef soon came over to our table and, in broken English, explained that he would cook us a feast of local dishes.... With no need to look at a menu we sat back and waited for our the plates of delicious food to be served. What a treat!!! We had an amazing plate of antipasti, a pasta course (two types), a meat stew and a delicious selection of desserts. This was home made cuisine of the highest order. The wine was good, the service excellent and the overall experience was first class... Why waste money going into the centre of Rome when such local delights are on offer? Don't shout too loudly though, we don't want it to get too busy!!!!

We were staying at the nearby Holiday Inn at EUR Parco de Medici and wanted to try somewhere away from the hotel without having to travel into central Rome. The restaurant itself is within walking distance but it's along a main road with no pavement so I would suggest you did what we did and get a taxi which takes about 10 minutes from the Holiday Inn. The restaurant itself is small and unassuming and not very much frequented by tourists. Most of the other customers seem to be locals. None of the staff spoke much English and we don't speak any Italian but somehow we got by! Everyone was friendly and eager to help. The chef came from the kitchen to talk to us about the food and the food really is the star of the show. We both had pasta dishes that were without question the best pasta we have ever eaten. I'm not sure how you can take pasta and a couple of simple ingredients and turn it to something fantastic but they know how! I had Saltimbocca to follow which is a Roman speciality and my husband had an oxtail stew which the chef had eaten for his own supper and they were equally delicious. This was really an authentic Italian dining experience and I can't recommend this place highly enough.
