Today, I visited one of the busier areas in Yibin, the Daguanlou commercial district. After getting off the bus, I saw an old building standing in the middle of the road, named Daguanlou. According to my research, it dates back to the Qing Dynasty. However, it looks a bit out of place surrounded by tall buildings. This area is quite lively and is considered a commercial district. In the evening, the streets are closed off for a night market, giving it a vibrant atmosphere. I chose a skewer shop to try some grilled skewers, and they tasted pretty good. I noticed that people here seem to love drinking Zhenjingguo. The owner recommended it to us, so we gave it a try. It was quite good, with a slightly sweet taste. After eating and drinking our fill, we couldn't resist having some liangfen and lianggao to end the day on a perfect note, especially since we are in Sichuan! I recently came across a video about 'Ran Mian' noodles and found it quite unbelievable. The noodle shop is actually located inside a pork stall, which is quite unique. During my visit to Yibin, I made a special trip to try it out. I wandered around to experience the local culture, and the market was my first choice. It took me three passes to find the shop, which is indeed behind a pork stall and a bit hard to locate. I ordered a bowl to try. The 'Ran Mian' noodles are really dry and need to be paired with soup or a drink, otherwise, they are hard to swallow. The taste is authentic and different from what I've had in other provinces. The flavor is subjective; it's not about being good or bad. Personally, I found it too dry and not to my liking, but it's worth trying for the authentic experience! Today I was wandering around aimlessly again, looking here and there, and suddenly I saw a temple so I went in. No entrance fee was required, which was great. This is what a temple should look like. It is up to you to be happy and not force anything. Otherwise, it will become greed, anger, and ignorance. How can there be a temple at all? The temple is very quiet and not noisy, which is quite nice. There is also a small museum nearby. Today, let's take a look at the Yangtze River, China's largest river. Here is the confluence of the Min River, Jinsha River, and Yangtze River. It's a spectacular and clear sight, very vast. On the surface, it looks calm, but there must be undercurrents at the confluence. The square is quite spacious and not crowded, possibly because there's no shade. On a good day, it can be quite sunny. There are many trees along the ancient city wall where you can find shade and take a break. Many elderly people and children are also there to cool off and practice dancing. The environment is quite nice! Today, I took a long walk around this area. Since it's a bridge, the map navigation isn't very accurate. Follow the location I marked below and walk on the bridge to get there. Don't walk on the ground, or you'll take a long detour. However, because of the detour, I managed to catch a train passing by and got some photos, so it was a blessing in disguise. This area is unmanaged, but there's a wire fence. Don't go overboard trying to find the perfect photo spot; it's actually quite safe. The weather is good but a bit sunny.
