Tokumaru Station: A rural station! The starting point for orchard walks
#AugustDestinations2025
Tokumaru Station, located in Yazu-cho, Tottori Prefecture, is a relatively young station on the Wakasa Line of the Wakasa Railway, having only opened in 2002. The station has no station building, only a single platform and simple facilities, making it an unmanned station. In 2020, under the supervision of designer Takashi Mitakeka, the platform roof was renovated in a wooden style, giving the station a warm and inviting atmosphere. Clean, simple yet functional toilets are also available in front of the station.
The surrounding area is primarily farmland, offering a tranquil environment. The line extends straight towards Danbi, creating a refreshing scenery. The nearby "Hatto Fruits Tourist Park" is also very popular. In summer and autumn, you can pick pears, apples, grapes, and even experience chestnut harvesting, making it a great place to take a train for a rural orchard tour. Tokumaru Station may not be a flashy tourist destination, but precisely because of this, you can experience the simple charm of local railways, closely integrated with rural life. 🌿
