Visiting Shwedagon Pagoda, the most expensive pagoda in the world
The Shwedagon Pagoda is the main attraction of Yangon, Myanmar’s capital city. It is not only national symbol but also one of indispensable religious monuments in the world. Covered with hundreds of gold bar, the pagoda is the most expensive pagoda in the world. There are also hundreds colorful temples, stupas, and statues that make the pagoda a treasure of architecture, and art.
Located in the heart of Yangon City, the Pagoda can be seen from most places of Yangon City. You can chose to stay either day time or night time.

The Yangon
The Yangon Ring Road Railway has been in operation for more than a hundred years. Due to lack of maintenance, the railway has been deserted. The little train just entered the station and the crowd was surrounded. Because of the high compartment, one Burmese carried the cage and the other hand grabbed the doorknob to climb the carriage. It takes 3 hours for a small train to travel around the city. You only need about 1 yuan to buy a ticket to get a trip around the city. There are a lot of people on the train, tourists who take pictures with their cameras, students who carry school bags to go to school, and Buddhist monks. The most interesting people are the traders who shuttle between the various compartments. They carry a variety of goods in the basket, and they eat, wear and use everything. The little train swayed all the way, and the people in the car chatted with the rhythm and stayed. Perhaps this is the right way to take a small train.
Htamane Festival in Myanmar 🇲🇲
#newyearnewtrip #myanmar
Htamane Festival in Myanmar happens roughly around the end of February as the cold weather somewhat grows gentler on the people. It is usually prepared around what Burmese people call Tabodwe (just remember is as the full moon day of february haha)
Htamane is made from glutinous rice and other local delights. People may gather around it make it together as a festival. My family usually sets up a big pot in our garden back home and cook it together!
Truly when the times were much more peaceful in Myanmar. Looking forward to experience it again someday.
P.S. Forgive the quality, it’s from my digicam that’s an older model 🥹
Pe’s of Cake Fatcarons & Macaroons from Yangon & Bangkok

Pe’s of Cake is an online bakery that mainly focuses on their macaroons and fatcarons. They currently have expanded to brownies & etc..
They are cheaper to order in Yangon, Myanmar but they also have an online branch in Bangkok too! You can find them on facebook easily ~
I am very proud of how far they have come considering how I’ve been a fan for at least 4 years! It’s definitely one of the best macaroons ever so please do support them if you can and tell me if it’s to your liking ~~
My fav food and drink in Yangon
Burmese Tea (Lahpet yee)
Where to drink: You can find Burmese tea at almost any tea shop around Yangon, especially in neighborhoods like Chinatown or downtown. Popular spots like Shwe Pu Zun or Tea Garden serve excellent, authentic lahpet.
Why I Love It: The rich, sweet tea offers a comforting taste of home. Whether sipping it with friends at a local tea shop or at home with family, it’s a drink that brings people together.
Shwe Taung Noodles
Where to Eat: For the best Shwe Taung noodles, head to local eateries in the Shwe Taung region, or try spots like Shwe Taung Noodle House in Yangon, which serves the dish with the perfect balance of savory broth and toppings.
Why I Love It: The combination of tender noodles, rich broth, and the right amount of spice makes it my go-to comfort food. It’s a hearty, satisfying dish I always crave after a long day.

Golden Buddhist Temple in the heart of Myanmar
An absolutely must-see place in the center of the capital city Yangon.
This impressive religious complex is almost 100m tall and more than 2500 years old.
The ticket fee for foreigners is 10,000 ks, for locals the entrance is free. You should put your shoes in the bag as wearing them is prohibited. Also you need to wear modest clothes when visiting.
The best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon when it's less hot.

Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred pagoda in Myanmar
The Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is the most important Buddhist temple in Yangon and even in Myanmar. Legend has it that this temple, which was built 2,500 years ago, is the spiritual support of the local people and a spiritual indicator for the Burmese people.
You must go barefoot when you go up to the Shwedagon Pagoda, not even wearing socks.
The tower body is made of real gold blocks, not gold-plated, and the whole tower is shining with gold😀😀
The reason why the Shwedagon Pagoda is famous and has a high status is that it enshrines the relics of four Buddhas, including the staff of the Buddha Kukkutsuna, the water purifier of the Buddha of Perfect Enlightenment, the robe of the Buddha Kasyapa, and the eight hairs of the Buddha Sakyamuni.
