It was a weekend short trip to Washington, D.C. Just want to share some of the places and restaurants that I have visited. Upon arrival, we visited National Mall and Monuments. We visited Lincoln Memorial. It reflect on Lincoln's legacy, admire the Reflecting Pool, and we also visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial nearby. 📍2 Lincoln Memorial Cir NW, Washington, DC 20037 We then went to Washington Monument. Wen managed to took panoramic views of the city from the observation deck (💰timed tickets required). 📍 2 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20024 We also visited Smithsonian National Museum of American History. We explored the exhibits on American history, including the Star-Spangled Banner and First Ladies’ gowns. 📍1300 Constitution Ave NW, Washington, DC 20560 As I am very into historical buildings and museum, I arranged sometimes to visit National Archives Museum. We viewed the the original Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights. 📍701 Constitution Ave NW, Washington, DC 20408 We also visited United States Capitol and Capitol Visitor Center. We took a tour to the Capitol Building, including the Rotunda and National Statuary Hall (advanced reservations recommended). 📍First St SE, Washington, DC 20004 We also visited Library of Congress. We managed to explore the beautiful Thomas Jefferson Building and view the Gutenberg Bible. 📍101 Independence Ave SE, Washington, DC 20540 We also visited Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. We explored the African American experience through powerful exhibits and artifacts. 📍1400 Constitution Ave NW, Washington, DC 20560 Asides, I would also recommend you to visit the Supreme Court of the United States. We got the chance to attend a court session and explored the historic building and exhibitions. 📍1 First St NE, Washington, DC 20543 Last but not least, if you’re looking for a decent restaurant, I would recommend you to try Founding Farmer. Foggy Bottom is an area lying west of White house, with Potomac River at its border. This area used to be affected by the influx of European immigrants. Thus, the need of housing/dwelling was the trigger for all the historic housing in the alleys around here. A self-walk around the neighborhood will shed some light on its interesting history. Enjoyed a simple weekend in Washington, D.C. I came to specifically visit the National Museum of African American History and it did not disappoint. Coupled with the Amazing food and good vibes, D.C. was definitely a treat for me. I came on the Jet Coach Bus from NYC and the ride was quick and swift. After seeing the news broadcast, I discovered that there is a restaurant with authentic Taiwanese flavor in Washington, so I hurriedly made an appointment with my friends for the weekend. Restaurants here in Washington generally recommend reservations, especially on small weekends when everyone will gather after work and run down or something, and the meal peak time will become very crowded. There are two White House Garden Open Days in autumn and spring every year. In English, it is called White House Garden. In autumn, it is about early to mid-October. Tickets are queued up on site to enter, while supplies last. You will need to go through security before entering the garden. You cannot bring water bottles in (even empty ones). It is recommended to arrive light. The entire tour lasts about an hour and a half, and the live band music continues, but will be carried forward by the crowds behind. Behind the band is the east side of the White House, and past it is the Oval Office, which is often seen in the album Designated Survivor 😆 Next is the lawn in front of the pool, cars, and trees planted by past presidents are everywhere on the lawn (at the door It’s written in the handbook distributed, and there will also be a sign on site) At the end of the route is a kitchen garden with peppers, basil and the like. You cannot stay there for too long as security will urge you forward. In short, if time permits, I highly recommend this itinerary!

Definitely worth to visit the United States capitol. It’s beautiful and one of the political center of the most powerful country in the world. Easily spent several hours around the area to enjoy the architecture and the beautiful lawn. Worth to make an appointment to have a guided tour to inside the United States Capitol. Would be a great experience and definitely worth the time. Notice that guided tour inside the United States Capitol has been suspended since Covid. Hope it will resume soon and tourists can enjoy the tool again. Also, it is not a too bad walk from the states capitol to the Washington Monument and White House if you like walk. Beautiful and clean walk pass.
