In late March - early April, the entire Washington DC becomes beautiful with light pink cherry blossoms! Among them, the best place to see cherry blossoms in Washington DC is Tidal Basin. The cherry blossom trees that surround the entire Tidal Basin began 100 years ago when Japan gifted cherry blossom trees to Washington to commemorate friendship with the United States! The cherry blossoms bloom a little differently every year, but in 2025, the Washington Cherry Blossom Festival started on March 22. I visited on March 22, but unfortunately, there were only cherry blossom buds and they were not fully in full bloom yet. So, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom outside of the Tidal Basin, so I was able to enjoy the cherry blossoms in Washington DC. I felt the scent of spring while walking along the Tidal Basin, and just walking made me feel really good.
