The vineyard terraces in the small town of vowe, Switzerland, are the most pleasant places on this trip. Blue sky and white clouds, snow-capped mountains and lakes, we are like the 18th-century girl in the spring tour, walking through the grape terraces and enjoying the most traditional white wine in Switzerland. Look at the growth of the grapes and the surging clouds.
The Fork Alimentarium
#europetrip
Standing tall at 8 meters, this stainless steel marvel is more than just a utensil—it’s a symbol of culinary history and art. Nestled in the serene waters of Lake Geneva, the Fork was created by artist Jean-Pierre Zaugg to celebrate the Alimentarium’s 10th anniversary. Since its installation, it has become a beloved landmark, capturing the imagination of visitors from around the world. Snap a photo, strike a pose, and let this giant fork inspire your culinary adventures!
The town of Vevey on Lake Geneva is home to a giant fork.
This time, I truly experienced the vastness and beauty of Lake Geneva.
After two days, I was still wandering around the lake, seeking beauty in every spot.
Lake Geneva is located in the southwestern part of Switzerland. It is pronounced "Lake Leman" in English or German, but it is more widely known as "Lake Geneva". Lake Geneva is the largest lake in the Alps, with the northern part belonging to Switzerland (slightly larger) and the southern part belonging to France.
There are many famous towns along the lake in Switzerland.
Lausanne, the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee, is a must-visit for sports fans like me. I also had to climb up to take a few photos of the special stained glass windows of Lausanne Cathedral.
Vevey, a town that is not very famous in the travel industry, but has a lot of history: Chillon Castle, Nestlé headquarters, Charlie Chaplin, Audrey Hepburn, and a giant fork in Lake Geneva.
Vevey is not only a famous resort and tourist destination, but also a popular retirement destination for celebrities.
Charlie Chaplin, Audrey Hepburn (actor), Ernest Hemingway (writer), Gustave Courbet and Bartis (painters). These great artists in history have all stayed in the Lake Geneva area and found peace of mind. The peace of mind allowed the artists to return to their true selves, inspired them, and brought out their greatest creativity.
Vevey's food processing industry is also famous. In fact, it has a very sweet nickname: Chocolate City.
Walking along the lakeside, you will definitely see the giant fork, standing straight in the lake, shining beautifully against the blue sky and water.
There are also a few white chairs near the fork (see below). Walk over and sit down, and you will instantly have the most beautiful dining view by Lake Geneva. It would be even better if there were more tables.
The 8-meter-high giant fork created by a Swiss artist seems a bit abrupt, but it feels very harmonious with Lake Geneva. It's a strange, indescribable harmony. The fork is located opposite the Chaplin statue by the lake, which is very interesting. It is said that the inspiration came from Chaplin's play: In "The Gold Rush", a gold digger eats a worn-out shoe with a knife and fork when he is hungry.
This refreshing lakeside town is actually the headquarters of the world's largest food manufacturer, Nestlé. It is also rumored that the fork standing in the middle of the lake was originally placed temporarily for a Nestlé event, but it accidentally became a landmark. People later called it "God's Fork".
I chose a nearby restaurant facing the lake and blooming with flowers, and ordered a set meal of Lake Geneva fish. With a large glass of beer in my right hand and a fork in my left hand, I was ready to eat.
——With a "big fork" in hand, I have the world!
Vevey:Discover the charm of lakeside
Nestled along the stunning shores of Lake Geneva, Vevey is a charming Swiss town that promises a tranquil escape. With its breathtaking scenery and rich history, this picturesque destination offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences. Whether you’re a history buff or simply looking for a relaxing getaway, Vevey is sure to captivate your heart.
One of the town’s most iconic landmarks is “The Fork,” a giant fork sculpture that juts out from the waters of Lake Geneva. This unique piece of art has become a must-visit spot for tourists, offering a quirky and memorable photo opportunity with the stunning lake and Alps in the background. Just a short walk away, you’ll find the famous statue of Charlie Chaplin, the legendary actor and filmmaker who spent his final years in Vevey. Snap a picture with the beloved figure before heading to Chaplin’s World to explore his life and legacy.
Vevey’s serene atmosphere, combined with these iconic landmarks, makes it a perfect destination for anyone looking to explore Switzerland’s lesser-known gems. Whether you’re capturing moments with The Fork or posing with Charlie Chaplin, your visit to Vevey will be filled with unique experiences and unforgettable memories.

🏰 Vevey's Vintage Charm: Luxe Stay at Trois Couronnes! 🇨🇭✨
📍Hôtel des Trois Couronnes & Spa, Rue d'Italie 49, Vevey, Switzerland
Hey wanderlust warriors! Nestled in the heart of Vevey, the Hôtel des Trois Couronnes & Spa exudes old-world elegance that's totally worth the splurge. 🌟 Though I aimed for double lake-view luxury, I snagged the last suite with a vista that didn't disappoint. 🌊
While it's going through a glow-up with the spa under renovation and some dated decor, the charm is still off the charts. 💆♂️ A heads-up: some amenities like the Hammam weren't available, and the bar staff might be in chill mode, so brace for a laid-back vibe. ☕️
But let's talk perks! You've got the serene lake on your doorstep and the Swiss vibes are strong with nearby attractions that'll have you yodeling for more. 🏔️ Whether you're here for the Insta-worthy scenery or to unwind in style, this spot's got the goods. Travel Guide Summary from Three Trips to Switzerland (Part 1)
Travel Guide Summary from Three Trips to Switzerland (Part 1)
As a European travel enthusiast, Switzerland is the only European country I have visited three times, and it was also the first country my husband and I visited on our European free travel journey. Although the cost of traveling in Switzerland is slightly higher than in other European countries, the travel experience in Switzerland is the safest, most comfortable, and most convenient among all European countries. It is also very suitable for family trips (with elderly and children). Each route will be shared in separate posts, so friends interested in traveling to Switzerland, please stay tuned.
First, let me introduce Switzerland. Switzerland is located in central Europe, bordering Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Italy, and France. The capital is Bern (yes, not Zurich or Geneva). Switzerland's natural scenery is beautiful, with rich tourism resources, and is known as the "World Park." German, French, Italian, and Romansh are all official languages of Switzerland. Therefore, when we travel to Switzerland, we often refer to the German-speaking region, the French-speaking region, and the Italian-speaking region. The level of English proficiency in Switzerland is very high, so communicating in English is not a problem at all.
How to get to Switzerland
✔ Flights from China to Switzerland generally land in Geneva or Zurich.
✔ Geneva is close to France and is the headquarters of the United Nations, making it convenient to explore travel destinations in the French-speaking region from Geneva.
✔ Zurich is the largest city and shopping destination in Switzerland and is also the starting point for most people's trips to Switzerland.
Let's first talk about the travel route in the French-speaking region. Generally, a three-day trip is recommended. It is suggested to stay in Montreux or Vevey for the entire trip without changing hotels and then visit various small towns.
✔ Montreux: A city along Lake Geneva, one hour by train from Geneva and three hours by train from Zurich. The most famous attraction here is the Chateau de Chillon. There is a path by the Chateau de Chillon that you can walk along the lakeshore to the center of Montreux, which is a very nice walking trail. The Montreux Jazz Festival is held every July.
✔ Vevey: A city along Lake Geneva, only five minutes by train from Montreux (half an hour by bus). The eight-meter-high fork standing in the lake in front of the Alimentarium is the symbol of Vevey. From late May to mid-June each year, the hills from Vevey to Montreux are covered with wild daffodils, which is very spectacular.
✔ Lavaux: The most beautiful section of Lake Geneva, with 18 kilometers of terraced vineyards planted along the steep slopes by the lakeshore (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site like Bordeaux in France). The main production area of Swiss white wine "Chasselas." It is about ten minutes by train from Vevey.
✔ Morges: A city along Lake Geneva, located between Geneva and Lausanne, and the late residence of Audrey Hepburn. Across the lake is the French town of Evian.
In addition to these beautiful small towns, the French-speaking region has a hidden benefit, which is the use of the Swiss Travel Pass to visit the French towns across the lake for free. More details will be shared in a separate post later.
The beautiful small town in the niche of Switzerland
Vevey is really suitable for a leisurely day of relaxation here.
It is very close to Montreux, and it takes about five minutes to get there by train.
The landmark of Vevey is a giant fork that stands 8 meters tall, created by a Swiss artist in 1995.
This is also the headquarters of Nestlé Coffee and the former residence where Charlie Chaplin lived for twenty-five years.
Welcome to visit the sunshine ☀️ and lakes of Vevey.
The Mysterious Fork by Lake Vevey: A Wonderful Fusion of Art and Nature
Switzerland's fairy-tale land—Vevey, nestled among the lakes and mountains, hides an awe-inspiring artistic wonder. On the shores of Lake Geneva, a gigantic fork stands tall in the water, as if it were a piece of cutlery inadvertently left behind by Jesus Christ during a meal. This is no ordinary object, but a masterpiece by Swiss artist Jean Pierre Zaugg, specially designed to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Vevey Food Museum.
Vevey, this small town located between Lake Geneva and the French border, has gained fame far and wide because of this giant fork in the lake. Originally a temporary art installation, it unexpectedly became a landmark of Vevey, drawing countless tourists to explore.
Standing on the lakeshore, gazing at the huge fork, one can feel the harmonious blend of art and nature. It not only witnesses the prosperity and changes of Vevey but also serves as a bridge connecting the past and the future.
If you also want to experience this wonder and mystery, consider embarking on a journey to Vevey to discover the story behind this giant fork in the lake. There, you will appreciate Switzerland's unique natural scenery and cultural charm, leaving behind unforgettable memories.
A city to visit to see a fork?
Oh no,, I just pass by the fork.
I heard that Bbe went to see the Charlie Chaplin statue and the fork statue.
But the other parts were so good!
I didn't have high expectations for Bbe, but the atmosphere of the cute streets like Seongsu-dong was so good...🤍
▪️Cute
▪️Seriously hip
▪️Seongsu cafe vibe
▪️Not many tourists★★★★★
It's not a place that many tourists visit, so it's a great city to take a break and travel leisurely while walking along the lakeside!
But let's talk about the main fork!
My thoughts are first, " "}and it's bigger than I thought!!!" "}
Second, " "}What the heck?! Why is it here?!" "}
It feels like they put a fork in the lake for tourists?!
But I couldn't help but leave it behind😉 I'll come back again because of this taste!

Vineyard
Swiss wine is not very well-known in China. When we see the vineyards on the slopes by the lake, we always assume that Swiss wine will be exported. In fact, it is almost impossible to buy Swiss wine outside of Switzerland. According to research, Swiss wine only accounts for 40% of domestic sales in Switzerland, and Switzerland is actually an importer of wine.
So, if you want to drink Swiss wine, you can only go to Switzerland.
Vevey
can you guess where is the pictures? this is the small town in Switzerland called Vevey. It is the way from Zermatt to Geneva. this town is very peaceful and everyone is nice. Someone bring the music instruments to play the beautiful song which make the street become more romantic. there has the tourist spot that has a big folk in the lake and also there ia charlie chapin statues.
Swiss small tourist destination | Lavaux vineyard terraces at the foot of the snowy mountains
Switzerland travel favorite place is actually the Lavaux vineyard terraces on the outskirts of Vevey, although there have been many terraced views, but the grapes The garden terraces are still the first time to see, and there are indeed many surprises.
Take the train, the train goes along the lake, the lake is crystal clear, crosses the hills and cascades, we break into this paradise. This is a very ordinary place. There seems to be no special point in the ordinary, but it makes people feel comfortable, just like this quiet lake.
The town of Vevey is surrounded by vast lakes and mountains, plus a pleasant and humid climate. The annual sunshine is abundant and the rainfall is sufficient. This is also the place where grapes grow, Lavaux terraces. It also came into being; standing in the terraces, overlooking the Alps, connected to the lake, breathing the fragrant air of the grapes, and the exhaustion of the body also quietly faded.
Along the path in the terraced fields, large rows of grape terraces are displayed in front of our eyes, well-preserved villages are embedded in it, scattered in terraces, sparkling lakes, towering Alps Snowy mountains, the grapes planted in the mountains and plains, take a deep breath, full of grapes, and the time seems to be still at this moment.
We walked along the terraced road for twenty minutes to a winery along the lake. The kindly and sly owner gave us a bottle of white wine made by ourselves, accompanied by fresh cheese, while enjoying the food and wine, while enjoying the beauty of the lake, you can also take beautiful photos. The more I like this peaceful town.
It is worth reminding that the wines produced in Switzerland are not exported. It is definitely not available in China, so when you travel to Switzerland, remember to taste the local wines~
Address: Lavaux Vineyards in Vaud, southwestern Switzerland
How to go:
Hiking: If time is abundant and not afraid of mountain roads, it is recommended to experience the St-Saphorin-Lutry route, 11 km in length, complete the journey It takes about 3 and a half hours to visit traditional Swiss wineries and taste local wines along the way.
Lawater Express: It is a local rubber wheel sightseeing train. If you don't want to walk or have limited time, you can also take the Lavut Express for about 1 to 2 hours. You can explore the vineyard area by car, and some routes can visit the wine cellar and enjoy local wines for free.
Tickets: Free
Slowly moving from the village of Chexbres to the grape town of Rivaz, I walked into the residential area of the town in a short while. The roads here are criss-crossed, and there are various unique houses on the roadside, and there are wine cellars inside. Almost every family here makes wine, which is a true grape town. Buying wine here is also a great choice.
Le Deck is located on the observation deck halfway up the Lavaux vineyards in Lavoux, with a panoramic view of the entire Lake Geneva region and vineyard terraces. Not only can you taste the Laval vineyard's most famous salad wine, but the other one that attracts the most from the world is his wonderful beauty. The opposite Alps are enveloped by clouds, always giving a mysterious color. In fact, think about it, I really admire the Swiss, they make such a good wine here, and only they can enjoy it. So today I am really lucky to drink Swiss-owned wines.
Lavaux vineyard terraces Lavaux
Opposite the iconic big fork, there is a simple, yet elegant, goose-yellow building, this time our destination, Alimentarium. Founded in 1985, the Vevey Food Museum, established by Nestl, introduces food research in a simple and fascinating way, showing the different ways and means of food from production to consumption, from scientific The national and historical aspects of the diet and nutrition were introduced. Although only 900 square meters, it is not comparable to any "mega" museum, but this Alimentarium museum is also one of the landmarks of Vevey.
When it comes to the big fork on Lake Geneva, it is known as GIANT FORK, which refers to the fork that God accidentally fell off when eating, and is also one of the "17 largest toys" in the world.
On the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, there are large grape plantations, from Vevey to Rivaz, all over the mountains. This hillside is full of layers of grape terraces, very spectacular! The front Hu is the Lake Geneva, and the opposite mountain wind is in France.
There are few tourists, and occasionally there are some restaurants and wineries. Le Deck is a well-known local restaurant where you can enjoy the lake and the wine while you taste the wine.
Vevey to Rivaz is also a famous hiking route. Walking along the grape terraces or along the lake, many local young people are playing in the lake, although the stone beaches do not affect, I also see two A beautiful woman pushes the boat out to sea, no, it is out of the lake! I really admire the people here, I can't see the pressure of work and the urgency of life!
This hotel is a jewel on the shores of Lake Geneva and attracts countless distinguished guests. The most attractive is the wide room and super large terrace with 180° lake view.
Maybe Fire Rabbit is visiting the Jazz Festival, or maybe its a hotel surrounded by music. Afternoon tea begins, the jazz band in the garden is performing, the flowers are flourishing, the fountain is smashing, this Is the best way to open a holiday!
Early morning, early in the morning, the yoga teacher is already waiting for a one-hour professional yoga class with the friends. The rabbit is getting early and talks with the teacher. She is from the Czech Republic, 30 years old. When I got a yoga certificate and came to teach in Switzerland, she said that it is not easy. People learn French in the "old age". In addition, the yoga license exam is harsh, not only to prepare physically, but also to learn philosophy!
This hotel is located in the entrance, you can see the Tai Chi logo, it is a very good SPA certification, the hotel PURESSENS SPA provides Joelie Cicco's skin care products and treatments, from France to the natural aromatherapy brand, supplies all It is made of plants and meets the edible standards. In Joelie's own aromatherapy room in Paris, there are stars, Natalie Portman and Monica Bellucci, all of whom are her guests.
Aromatherapy Room When we introduced Cicoo's maintenance philosophy, we said that we hope to bring the user from the inside out. When I heard the inner maintenance, I thought of the beauty of the heart! I don't know! At a later spa
When I came to Switzerland in the early autumn, I really had a place that was super-best and suitable for hiking. The Lavaux grape terraces are a terrace of grapes on the mountainside from Montreux to Lausanne on the side of Lake Geneva. In 2007, they were listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The best time to visit here is from the end of August to the beginning of October. The grapes are terraced and the white vines are half-personal. The grapes are ripe at this time. Time, secretly pick a tasting, because the variety is wine grapes, in order to increase the tannins of the grape skin, the seed is not as good as the fruit grapes bought by the supermarket. There are many wineries hidden in the
grass field. The more concentrated location is near the ephess train station. There is time to check the opening hours of the winery on the Internet or directly in the past. Walking slowly down the mountain from the footpath of the mountain, it is basically a sloping road without a staircase. Looking down, it is a quiet lake like a mirror.
Because this season is ripe for the grapes, the sun is particularly strong. If you are on foot, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats and water are definitely ready.

In Switzerland, Lavaux vineyards are not only used for agricultural purposes, but also a well-known scenic spot. The vineyards are built on the hills and the mountains are steep.
