Le Port de Toulon Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Mediterranean vibes in Toulon
Summer in Toulon is a total fun. Toulon is a port city on France’s Mediterranean coast, with Cannes to its east and Marseille to its west. It’s naval base and harbour are probably the most visited places. Lots of restaurants near the harbour to enjoy some nice sea food. #france #toulon #mediterranean
The pleasant port of Toulon
Toulon is located to the east of Marseille, a port city on the Mediterranean in southeastern France. The Stalingrad Quay Boulevard can be said to be the most representative tourist spot in Toulon. In front is the old port, where cruise ships, warships, and yachts are docked. Behind is the old city. Coincidentally, there is a local weekend market. The market is set up along the street. The narrow streets are full of various fruit stalls, vegetable stalls, and small commodity stalls, as well as residents who come to the market, creating a lively and bustling atmosphere. Boxes of orange oranges, yellow lemons, and vegetables whose names I can't remember, look even more vibrant under the clear sunlight.
Unfortunately, the National Navy Museum is closed on weekends.

Meet the most beautiful and exquisite St-Tropez.
Here are magnificent beaches, clear sea water, exquisite villages... In Saint-Tropez, this little paradise in the south of France, you can always explore with endless curiosity.
1. The village of Saint-Tropez
When you first come to the Blue Coast for vacation, Saint-Tropez is obviously a must-visit place. Among the must-see attractions, I will introduce to you: the port, Place aux Herbes, the former police station which has become a museum (famous for French actor Louis de Funès), and finally climb up to the castle (Avenue Antoine de Saint-Exupéry). Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Saint-Tropez.
Explore Saint-Tropez in different ways, such as strolling through the beautiful alleys of the city, enjoying Baba au Rhum ice cream at the port, and taking a boat tour of the bay. After visiting Saint-Tropez, you can relax on the famous Pampelonne Beach or take a scenic route from Cap Camarat to Cap Taillat and Escalet Beach. All are great options.
Pampelonne Beach, which is 4.5 kilometers long, boasts white pebbles and crystal-clear water, making it incredibly beautiful. Of course, you can also enjoy many private beaches on Pampelonne, such as Nikki Beach, Bagatelle Beach, Cabane Bambou, etc. The price is 25 euros, which includes lounge chairs and drinks.
Starting from an altitude of 180 meters at Cap Camarat, near the lighthouse, you will enjoy the unique scenery around, especially overlooking the entire Pampelonne Bay. At the same time, we recommend the Cap Taillat peninsula, which unfortunately was destroyed by a fierce fire a few years ago, but now has recovered. You can walk along the coast for more than 2.5 kilometers, enjoying beautiful plant groups and the Mediterranean scenery.
Beautiful villages around Saint-Tropez.
Two, Grimaud
Rimmo is one of the beautiful villages around Saint-Tropez. For me, it is even one of my favorite villages in the south of France. The charming elements of the villages in the south of France, I think, should be the lovely and delicate small streets, beautiful exterior walls, and flowers... So you've come to the right place! Grimaud is such a perfect example! Lost in the ups and downs of the small streets, looking at the beautiful exterior walls dotted with beautiful wisteria... Walk through these streets to the Château de Grimaud, from where you can enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of Saint-Tropez.
Three, Port-Grimaud
Grimaldi Port is a water city that is completely different from other villages in the Saint-Tropez Bay. Since 1966, the waterway has been the street, and we jokingly call it the mini Venice of the Cote d'Azur. It is recommended to park the car in the outside parking lot and explore the town on foot. Let's enjoy delicious ice cream and admire the beautiful and colorful small town at the same time!
4. Gassin Jiaxin
After Grimaud, if you are looking for a beautiful village just a few minutes away from Saint-Tropez, I highly recommend Gassin. Gassin is one of the refuge villages of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and is listed as "one of the most beautiful villages in France". It is located at an altitude of 200 meters, with rich vegetation and is a paradise for coastal birds! It is surrounded by vineyards and offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. In addition, the village has very lovely and pleasant alleys, which can provide you with a beautiful background to tell romantic stories to your loved ones. On the plains around the village, there are many famous wineries (Château Minuty, Château Barbeyrolles, etc.).
Five, Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer
Between Cavalaire-sur-Mer and Le Lavandou, Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer is a small town that I particularly appreciate in the area. Stay at Domaine du Rayol, a seaside garden hotel. The closest place to the beach is only a few meters away.
You can walk down a few meters and enjoy the beautiful and clear sea water in the nearby waters and the Yerl Islands across... Meanwhile, there are also 20 hectares of Mediterranean-style gardens here, even with different styles such as California, arid America, and New Zealand. Another must-see attraction in Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer is undoubtedly the road to Col du Canadel towards La Môle. Whether you drive up or walk along the path, you will be shocked by the beautiful scenery in front of you. During the entire climbing process, once you reach the top, you will be able to enjoy the magnificent view of the town and the sea below.
7. Plage de Cavalière au Lavandou
After leaving Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer for a few minutes, take a walk on the Cavalière beach near Le Lavandou. The beach is large and the water is really beautiful! Enjoy swimming, paddle surfing, and kayaking in this heavenly environment. It's definitely worth trying some water sports here!
8. Accommodation
I have chosen to stay at Hôtel du Bailli de Suffren in Rayol-Canadel.
This 4-star hotel has everything you need for a wonderful vacation near Saint-Tropez. First of all, because it is located on Rayol-Canadel Beach. Therefore, the entire hotel enjoys a front view of the sea and clear seawater, facing the islands of Levant and Port-Cros. All rooms have sea views and a balcony or terrace. It is truly a relaxing experience, especially when you open the bay window and hear the sound of the waves... In addition, the decoration is very stylish, using wood, ceramics, and wicker for decoration, and was renovated in 2017.
9. Three restaurants with different atmospheres.
At noon, you can choose L'Escale seaside restaurant and enjoy the magnificent view. This restaurant is also open to external guests and offers fresh typical seaside cuisine. For those guests who like to relax in the hotel swimming pool, they can also enjoy a simpler lunch at the Pool House restaurant. In addition to cocktails, you can also find salads, club sandwiches, and burgers on the menu. Finally, in the evening, you can enjoy the unique environment at Le Loup de Mer restaurant facing the sea. You will enjoy Mediterranean cuisine. For foodies, desserts will undoubtedly completely attract you. Highly recommend the lemon and pine nut, which is made with lemon cream, burnt lemon sauce, pine nut crumbs, olive oil, and lemon sorbet.

French Riviera | Medieval Fairy Tale Towns
1️⃣Grimaud: 🌈 Known as the colorful Port Grimaud, the 'Little Venice of Provence', with its small bridges, squares, and canals.
2️⃣Èze: Located between Monaco and Nice, it is one of the oldest and most beautiful medieval towns in France, with stone cottages perched atop rocky hills, overlooking the endless sea 🌊, resembling a city in the sky.
3️⃣Bormes-les-Mimosas: The history of the town dates back to the 4th century BC, and the current street appearance largely follows the style of the 12th century. Bormes is a town blooming with flowers, having won the gold medal in the village floral competition. From January to March each year, the town is filled with golden yellow flowers, 🌼 making a stroll here extremely therapeutic.
4️⃣Antibes: This place has a port 🚤 where yachts dock, 16th-century city walls, and cobblestone streets adorned with flowers. No wonder the charming Antibes has won the favor of many artists and writers, including Graham Greene, Max Ernst, and Picasso.
5️⃣Mougins: Mougins is a medieval town built spiraling around the top of a hill, offering an unobstructed view of the surrounding scenery. 🎨 This ancient village has always been a gathering place for artists. The most famous is Picasso, who lived here for 12 years until his death in 1973. Today, there are many art galleries and museums around the town, filled with an artistic atmosphere.
The "Venice" town of Provence - Port Grimaud.
Grimaud Port is located 7 kilometers west of Saint-Tropez and 7 kilometers southeast of Sainte-Maxime. Grimaud Port was built in 1966 on the marshes of the Giscle River on the north shore of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Building a town between the water network of the marshes and improving the ecology was a very advanced practice at that time, and it turned out to be very successful. Here, not only human habitation is realized, but also the development of the tourism industry. The Provencal-style houses are distributed among the water network. These houses have different designs, painted in soft ocher, pink and turquoise, and have wrought iron balconies with shutters and Roman red terracotta roofs. It is known as the "Venice of Provence".
You can rent a small boat and shuttle between the waterways of the town, or stroll along the inland streets to experience the unique charm of this world. There are markets on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays by the seaside, where you can get a taste of the local life. In short, this is a town that you will love and be amazed by!

Three days and two nights, the stunning Verdon Gorge + Lake Sainte-Croix!
Welcome to the famous Verdon Gorge! In the heart of Provence, there is a route that brings you close to nature. It allows you to shuttle through the gorge, feel the beauty of Lake Sainte-Croix, and experience the ancient town hidden in the mountains.
1. Panoramic route of the northern line.
On the north side, D952 connects Castellane to Lac de Sainte Croix. At the end of this road is the Sainte Croix Lake, which is the main route to experience the canyon. The canyon road is narrow, allowing you to experience the vastness of the canyon and the vertical steepness of the cliffs. Climbing all the way up to an altitude of 700 meters, you may also have the opportunity to see many bald eagles.
2. Panoramic route of the southern line.
On the south side, I also recommend taking the D71 that connects Trigance and Aigines. It runs south along the Gorges du Verdon, and is much quieter with fewer cars than the D952. The panoramic views here are also very beautiful, whether it's at the Balcons de la Mescla on the Martell path or at the pass of Illoire. It's worth stopping and staying for a while.
3. The town of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.
I am impressed by the beauty and charm of this village, which is located in the center of Verdon Park and ranks among "the most beautiful villages in France". When you first see Moustiers, the first thing that catches your eye is the cliff. The town is built on the mountain, and this small village exudes the atmosphere of Provence: the fragrance of lavender permeates the streets, and the maze-like alleys give you the opportunity to discover beautiful fountains, pottery shops, and more. The Notre Dame de Beauvoir chapel is located between the cliffs, and the climb to the church overlooks the entire town. This is the first time I have felt like I have found a paradise on earth. An impulse to stay.
Navigation address: Place de l'Eglise 04360 Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
Four, swimming in Lake Saint Croix.
The Sainte-Croix Lake, built in the 19th century, is an artificial lake known for its emerald green water. I was really fascinated by its color. I sincerely recommend driving around the lake. Along the way, you can see beautiful villages by the lake... such as Bauduen and Aiguines.
On the map, look for the small path down to the lake, have a picnic by the lake, go for a swim, and it's so comfortable. Another important activity on the lake is canoeing, and the boat rental point is at the Galetas Bridge.
No input provided.
Five, travel.
The canyon has no buses, it is recommended to rent a car to go. You can plan to visit Sainte-Croix Lake and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie for one day, and drive along the lake, have a picnic and go boating on the second day. This trip can be combined with Valensole and Grasse to make a bigger circular tour.
Sixth, accommodation.
1. Auberge des Salles is located across from Lake Sainte-Croix. This hotel is very comfortable and offers magnificent lake views!
Address: 18 rue Sainte Catherine, 83630 Les Salles sur Verdon
2. Hotel and Spa des Gorges du Verdon located on the banks of the Verdon Gorge in La-Palud-sur-Verdon. It features a scenic swimming pool, a spa center, and modern decor.
Address: route de la Maline, 04120 La Palud-sur-Verdon Verdon River, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence Valensole, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence Verdon Gorge and Lake Sainte-Croix Auberge du Seigneur des Serres Restaurant des Gorges du Verdon (Hôtel&Spa) Hotel & Spa des Gorges du Verdon
Grasse is located in the Alpes-Maritimes region of the Provence-Alpes-Cte d'Azur region in southeastern France, 19 km from Cannes and a small town located at an altitude of 325 m. The origin of the city and perfume dates back to the 17th century, when the perfume industry rose here, and today, this Grasse is still the center of the world perfume industry. This town attracts countless travelers.

Airelles Château de la Messardière Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
🌟 Saint-Tropez Splendor: Airelles Chateau Review 🌟
Nestled in the heart of Saint-Tropez, Airelles Chateau de la Messardiere is a mixed bag of luxe and quirks. 🏰✨ Here's the lowdown:
🍽️ Dining is a journey – from the complimentary breakfast to the lunch buffet, your taste buds are in for a treat. Yet, tread carefully at dinner; the Italian fare may just miss the mark.
🚌 Convenience is king with free shuttle rides to the heart of the action and sun-soaked private beach clubs. Plus, the gardens? Absolutely stunning. 🌺
🛀 As for relaxation, the sauna and steam room crank up the heat, while the pools are just fine for a dip. 🏊♂️
🛌 Room for Improvement: Bright white lights and hospital-esque bathrooms don't scream 'chic retreat.' Pro tip: snag a refurbished room for that extra sparkle. 💡
Despite the stellar service, value for money is a question mark, especially when expectations soar as high as the price tag. 🤔
