2025 Uthurumaafaru Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in October)

My wife and I stayed here for 13 nights for our honeymoon， and it was undoubtedly the best 13 nights we've ever experienced anywhere. To give it justice， it's ideal to look into the various aspects of the stay， so here's a breakdown.... Accommodation: We had the chance to stay in the aqua suite with slide for 4 nights， the beach suite for 2 nights， and the aqua suite with pool for 7 nights. We feel confident commenting on all the rooms available. Each was simply incredible， boasting breathtaking views and meticulously maintained as staff cleaned twice daily. The beds were comfy， the air conditioning worked well， and the mini bar was frequently restocked. While the novelty of the slide did wear off eventually， given the monsoon season， the currents were strong， making snorkeling on this side of the island a bit challenging compared to other areas. Food: The food was extraordinary every day， an understatement! The breakfast， lunch， and some dinners offered an a la carte menu depending on the dinner's theme. Breakfast included all usual buffet items: pastries， various breads， yogurts， cereals， and fresh fruits prepared before you. Also， there was a freshly made themed breakfast available such as Sri Lankan， Maldivian， Indian， Mexican， etc.， always intriguing and tasty， alongside a la carte selections like omelettes， eggs Benedict， etc. Lunch had an array of items on the a la carte menu， each day offering numerous specials. Throughout our stay， we repeated a lunch only once due to the excellent variety， and only because it was superb! Dinners were consistently wonderful; we were given a romantic beach meal and a floating breakfast with our honeymoon package. Moreover， the Italian and teppanyaki restaurants were excellent， leaving us feeling utterly spoiled for choice during our stay. We agreed the resort doesn't quite advertise just how exceptional the food truly is! Excursions: We participated in a half-day excursion with dolphin watching (sadly we didn't see any but luck wasn't on our side as friends we made there captured incredible dolphin videos)， a visit to a local island impacted by the 2004 tsunami (which was amazing and highly recommended—ensure you wear mosquito protection!) and snorkeling at a local reef. The excursion was affordably priced and included a bento box lunch and a cooler with assorted alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. We also went on a sunset cruise that was simply superb， featuring Prosecco to toast with and canapés. Resident marine biologist Sambe joined us and shared fascinating insights about the local aquatic life. We tried scuba diving for free， but my wife wasn't interested enough to book a full trip. It was great to try it first before committing to it. We also used the free kayaks and spotted a shark and eagle ray while paddling! Entertainment: A good range of evening entertainment was available; some we enjoyed， other nights we opted to unwind on our balcony beneath the stars. The white disco and marine talk were exceptional for different reasons， and the resident band was enjoyable， generally followed by a disco—safe to say when at the bar， fun was always had! During the day， there were plenty of sunbeds by the pool and at a beach area， although we visited during the off-season and the resort was only 40 - 50% filled. Snorkeling was great， showing everything from reef sharks to turtles， to rays， and a wide variety of fish. It's worth noting the best spot was before our aqua suite with pool due to shallower water and a weaker current compared to other island areas. We were informed that during peak season， currents are calmer， enhancing the snorkeling experience further. H20 Restaurant: The cuisine was absolutely divine and matched Michelin star standards. Service was fantastic and despite being a pricey experience， we agreed it was worth the overall experience. The views were astounding， letting us witness various aquatic life during the meal. Chef Alessandro was amazing， visiting the table multiple times to serve course sections， discuss the food， and naturally， as an Italian， converse about football! The waiting staff were very knowledgeable regarding marine life， leaving us on a high after such a wonderful evening! Staff: I've never encountered staff so friendly， helpful， and attentive before! Calling this treatment amazing barely scratches the surface， special thanks to individuals: Angel， Wasana， Shinte， Axume， Coco， Harry， Manoj， Iru (my football brother!)， Nasif， Xeen， Vikash， Viaam， Rina， and Chris. Thank you all!! Inne was the perfect resort manager， working tirelessly every day; arguably， he works too hard!!! And Yasir， our personal host， was phenomenal. Upon arrival， he set up a WhatsApp group to keep in touch 24/7， reserved different restaurants， and assisted with anything we desired. Apologies if this review is lengthy， but omitting any mentioned details would seem unjust to the resort! It was a perfect fortnight and we intend to return for one of our anniversaries here!

Wow， what an amazing time we had at You & Me， Maldives. From our arrival in Male to our departure a week later， every detail was organized. Seaplane transfers， the fabulous dolphin villa with a pool and sunset views， amazing food experiences with fresh seafood， Maldivian， Indian， and more. Lunch at ‘H2O’ is essential. Massages at the spa， snorkeling， incredible marine life， relaxing at the beach， and stunning sunsets! Sincere gratitude to Happy， Zahir， Sony， Hari， and everyone who made this an unforgettable experience.

A beautiful island with the most stunning white beaches and finest sand! There's a vibrant and vast array of marine life， with numerous fish visible while strolling around the jetty near the amazing water villas or snorkeling. The food is fantastic from breakfast through dinner across all the restaurants (dine around concept)， including delightful Japanese teppanyaki and special dining options. We enjoyed a private table on the beach， a truly special moment with the sunset and ocean sounds. Plus， the incredible underwater restaurant H20 is not to be missed at You & Me! What an experience! We had such a fantastic time， largely thanks to the lovely staff who took great care of us. Everyone was just so friendly :) Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

What an incredible experience! This beautiful paradise was incredibly relaxing and chill. Shana was an excellent host， always friendly and attentive. She arranged our itinerary and kept us informed about our bookings， which was a huge help considering how time-consuming it can be. This allowed us more time to enjoy the island activities. We tried snorkeling and diving—big thanks to Adam for helping me overcome my initial fear during the dive， his support really boosted my confidence， and I eventually loved it. The food at the resort was fantastic; "The Sand" restaurant offered different cuisines each day， and we especially enjoyed the Indian night on Tuesdays. The chef was top-notch. The "Green Carpet" restaurant， only open for lunch， served delicious seafood， with a big thank you to Angel who was warm and inviting. My partner is vegetarian， and they always provided good options for him. We also dined at the H2O underwater restaurant， which featured amazing views， dining among sharks and fish. While the service was great， the food didn't quite meet our expectations for a Michelin star venue， given its high price. A special mention to Harry， the hardest worker on the island， always present at meals with a warm smile and attentive demeanor. Our room was pristine and tidy; we stayed in room 701， which I highly recommend for its prime location near the restaurants and reception—it was spacious and had two toilets， perfect for couples.

The tranquil surroundings were delightful. Gul ensured my happiness throughout the stay， accommodating my requests and coordinating with the team to guarantee a top-notch holiday experience. Gul is truly kind and wonderful. I stayed in an overwater bungalow， among several types available. It was charming， beautifully decorated， and immaculately maintained by the staff. Dining options provided varied and memorable experiences. The Teriyaki cooking demo was both fun and engaging， complemented by delicious food. The pizza restaurant， with its red gingham tablecloths on the beach at sunset， made the food taste even better. Lunch near the pool always satisfied with tasty dishes and a cool spot away from the sun. Two special highlights: the water sports department's dedication exceeded expectations， with an unforgettable jet ski trip to a desert island and snorkeling with turtles being my favorite experience. I wished for more time. The staff， with their excellent local insights， often spotted Manta Rays on other outings. Lastly， the undersea restaurant， H2O， is a must-try. Andrea Berton's menu， paired expertly by Sommelier Indika， provided an extraordinary dining experience in the cozy glass underwater setting. I look forward to returning for a longer stay as 5 days simply wasn't enough.

Couple photoshoot with IM Studio at You & Me by Cocoon, Maldives. There are multiple packages available and I recommend you make reservation on your first day of arrival as they only have one photographer around. Within 24 hours of your photoshoot, you will be able to review the photos in their studio and they will send you a link to download the soft-copies after.
