The path to the summit The ascent to Mount Usu is easy, with the Usuzan Ropeway taking you as far as the eye can see in just six minutes. As the ropeway climbs, the scenery below slowly unfolds, lush green forests interspersed with black volcanic rock formations. The most exciting part is the sight of the volcanic crater, still emitting faint smoke. A spectacular viewpoint Upon reaching the final station, there are two main viewpoints: Viewpoint 1 (Toya Caldera and Lake Toya): This offers the clearest and most beautiful views of Lake Toya. This large lake, surrounded by mountains, is so peaceful and beautiful that you can truly feel the majesty of nature.
