Soaring Above Cappadocia with 💕
Have you ever dreamt of drifting through the clouds while witnessing a breathtaking landscape unfold beneath you? My recent hot air balloon experience in Cappadocia, Turkey, was nothing short of magical, made even more special as we celebrated my husband's birthday amidst the clouds.
Rising with the Dawn:
The adventure began before the first light of day. Our group gathered in the chilly pre-dawn darkness, excitement palpable in the air. As the hot air balloons were being inflated, the hiss of gas and the vibrant glow of the flames created an atmosphere of anticipation. With the first rays of sunlight painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, we ascended into the dawn, leaving the world below in quiet stillness.
Floating Among Fairy Chimneys:
Cappadocia's unique landscape is dotted with fairy chimneys, towering rock formations that resemble something out of a fantasy world. From the hot air balloon, these geological wonders took on a surreal quality, casting long shadows across the undulating valleys. It was like drifting through an otherworldly painting, each moment revealing a new facet of Cappadocia's charm.
Dancing with the Wind:
One of the most remarkable aspects of the hot air balloon experience is the sense of serenity that accompanies it. Floating high above the ground, the only sounds were the occasional blast of the burners and the whisper of the wind. The pilot skillfully navigated the balloon, allowing us to gently drift over the landscape, offering a 360-degree panorama that left us awestruck.
Sunrise Splendor:
As the sun continued its ascent, the landscape below transformed. The valleys were bathed in a warm, golden glow, revealing a patchwork of vineyards, orchards, and quaint villages. The intricate details of Cappadocia's terrain became increasingly clear, and the whole experience took on an ethereal quality that is hard to put into words.
A Sparkling Toast in the Sky:
The climax of our hot air balloon adventure was a traditional Sparkling toast upon landing. Touching down in a field, our skilled pilot expertly guided the balloon to a gentle stop. As we stepped out of the basket, the crew greeted us with glasses of Sparkling, marking not only the end of an unforgettable journey but also a special celebration for my husband's birthday.
If you ever find yourself in Cappadocia, don't miss the chance to embark on a hot air balloon adventure, especially if you have a special occasion to celebrate. It's an experience that transcends the ordinary, offering a unique perspective on one of the world's most captivating landscapes. From the pre-dawn inflation to the Champagne celebration at the end, every moment is etched in my memory as a testament to the beauty and wonder that can be discovered when soaring above Cappadocia, making it an extraordinary birthday celebration for my husband.

Delicious, authentic Turkish cuisine + a nice stroll
At 2am in Cappadocia, I was hungry and unable to sleep (chicken & egg situation). Tried finding restaurants that were open around my area (Göreme, where most of the tourist spots and the cave hotels reside) but nothing was open.
Found this restaurant "Konak Kebap Çorba" in Google Maps, among other restaurants. It was a ~20min drive in pitch black unlit country roads, so I was reluctant to head down. However, I did not regret it as the food was very well seasoned & perfectly cooked, and the prices were local Turkish rates (not tourist trap prices). Best of all, it's open 24/7 so your supper cravings can be fixed nicely.
After the hearty meal, I took a stroll around the neighbourhood. It was quiet and peaceful to walk around.

Cave Hotel @ Turkey
When you visit Turkey, you should at least try to stay at one of the cave hotels. It was a new experience to be in the room with deem light and concrete rock all around. Such a romantic or scary vibe in room but surrounding area are great!
Breakfast here is also international standard which I can take bread, eggs, ham and cheese. Truly an enjoyable breakfast with view. Walking around there's another cave building. Look like very plain on sight but actually amazing experience inside and within the area.

The architecture of the Caravanserai, one of the valuable structures of Turkey.
It is an interesting old building.

The entire ambience is mystical.
Twilight Transition: Aynalı Kilise's Historic Glow
Experiencing the twilight transition at Aynalı Kilise, an ancient rock-cut church in Göreme, was a journey through time. Known for its reflective surfaces that gave it the name 'Mirror Church,' this sacred space offers a glimpse into the Byzantine era.
As the sun disappeared, the historic structure, carved out of rock by early Christians, cast an enchanting silhouette against the night sky. The interior frescoes, hauntingly beautiful in the dim light, reveal a rich tapestry of religious narratives from centuries past.
The tranquility of nightfall, combined with the church's ancient spiritual aura, made the transition from sunset to darkness a profoundly moving experience. This twilight encounter at Aynalı Kilise was not just a visual spectacle, but a connection to an ancient past echoing in the starlit silence.

HOT AIR BALLOONS IN TURKEY
Cappadocia is a beautiful region in central Turkey famous for its fairytale scenery, cave dwellings, remarkable rock formations, and, of course, the hundreds of hot air balloons that soar in the sky during sunrise each morning. There is also so much awesome hiking in Cappadocia, that it will take you at least a week to explore all of the diverse hiking trails in the region. I spent ten days in Cappadocia adventuring on all of the hiking trails, exploring the ancient valleys and of course, being mesmerized by the hot air balloons.
The hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia is among major tourist attractions of Turkey. The ride takes you above a volcanic landscape and pleases you with golden sunset.#mytripvlog

## The cave house in Urgup, Turkey, although the location is slightly remote, and you need to drag the luggage up the mountain, but the landscape is really good, away from the hustle and bustle of the town center, you can clearly see the stars in the night sky. The stone house looks very strong. There are all kinds of local antiques in the room. The boss is very enthusiastic, because it just adds the dessert and red wine to the Chinese New Year. The bedroom is small and the location is high. Luggage is a bit of a hassle, but its quite close to the terrace, whether its a sunset or a starry sky, its very convenient~
I chose this home because it is a real cave hotel. Some cave hotels in Cappadocia are like caves, not real hotels built in caves. Basic cave hotel wifi is not very good, so people who like to surf the Internet don't want too much hope.
The washroom in each room has heating and heating, and friends from winter don't have to worry about it. Free private parking is also available on site.
The hotel restaurant is very beautiful, although not big, but the layout is very elegant. Breakfast is dinner, we are all here. It is my best meal in a hotel in Turkey. Very suitable for my taste.
Washroom: Although Turkey has 95% of its land in Asia and 5% of its land in Europe, their hotel habits are still according to European customs. Only shampoo, shower gel, disposable slippers, but no toothbrush and toothpaste Well, I knew that I had a toothpaste toothbrush before I left.
Transportation: The hotel is 10 minutes away from the town. You can go to the town and it is the best choice for shoppers.
In Turkey in the 6th century AD, many Christians fled to the isolated Cappadocia to escape the persecution of Muslims and dig holes in the mountains to make a living. These former refuge, after renovation, have now become a special hotel with a regional atmosphere, attracting foreign tourists to come and live.
Cappadocia's cave hotel, the world is fascinating, but the real cave hotel is concentrated in the central area of Goreme. These hotels are transformed from caves, whether they are rooms or restaurants, and there are stone ladder corridors between different rooms. Due to the different heights of the original caves, the floors of the rooms range from the ground floor to the ground floor.
Although there is an underground part, there is no need to worry about ventilation or darkness. The rooms retain the traditional local characteristics of Cappadocia, and have modern hotel hardware and software facilities. Generally, the price of the standard hotel in the cave hotel is more than three hundred yuan a night. Now the Turkish currency exchange rate continues to drop, which is a good time for experience. .
