I visited Saga Prefecture to avoid crowded tourist spots!!! Just as Yufuin is in Fukuoka, Saga Prefecture has Ureshino. I visited in the middle of summer, so I didn't stay at a ryokan, but just exploring the town was so much fun (I'll definitely be back in winter...) 🚇 24-hour car rentals for tourists were only 1,000 yen, so I made a reservation in advance from Korea. It's a small town, so transportation isn't that convenient, so I highly recommend renting a car. 📷 Take a picture in front of Siebold Onsen. 🍜 Be sure to try the hot spring tofu set at Soan Yokocho. 💡 As expected from a hot spring area, there was a footbath on the street. Summer hot springs can be difficult because they are hot, but it is different when it rains. It has a charm and is not too hot, so it is good. If you like to soak your body in hot spring water, I recommend it! I stayed at 'Wataya Besso' in Ureshino and was satisfied. The locals said that the accommodation was number one in this town. The location is about 15 minutes on foot from Ureshino Bus Center. If you have a hotel reservation, ask the bus center staff for the hotel shuttle bus, and the winter bus will come! It was convenient because the shuttle bus came whenever you called, not at a set time. Unlike other hotels, I was able to check in right away when I arrived early, which was really nice! (Early check-in about 2 hours) The room was a traditional Japanese tatami room, and it was a little old, but I went there considering that, so it was okay for me! (Analog sensibility🌟) I was very satisfied with the large public bath and women's open-air bath! There are paid facilities, but the free facilities were sufficient. Fairfield by Marriott Saga Ureshino Onsen. Located in front of Ureshino Onsen Station, the hotel feels like a Marriott accommodation dedicated to room-only stays. It's a relatively new hotel and very clean! The common area on the lobby floor is spacious, and it's okay to eat food purchased from outside stores. A nice touch is the free miso soup, even though it's instant. Coffee and other beverages are also available. Although it's in a hot spring town, the hotel doesn't have its own hot spring, so you'll need to go to an external bath. Since there's no hot spring inside the hotel, I recommend visiting a nearby hot spring facility. You'll also receive a hot spring map, so you can enjoy a morning bath, or even a night bath, depending on the location. ♨️ I took my morning bath at Siebold no Yu, a public hot spring bathhouse just a six-minute drive away. ♨️ I thoroughly enjoyed Ureshino Onsen, known for its skin-beautifying properties. Since it was morning, there weren't many people around, and the sun was shining brightly. I'm so glad I woke up early! I had a staycation at Ureshino Onsen♡ Established in 1830, it is a very historic inn, but the rooms have been recently renovated and are very comfortable☺️💗 The food was delicious, and the semi-open-air bath and family bath were all great😍 Above all, the hot spring tofu was so good... Sanpuku opened in November 2021 inside Wataya Besso, a well-known, long-established inn in the hot spring town of Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture. In addition to its hot springs, Ureshino is also famous for its green tea production. The bookstore stocks antique books on tea and the region, so you can enjoy a book or a cup of local tea in the attached cafe. I went to Ureshino Onsen Hotel Kasuien in Ureshino, Saga Prefecture. Three guys stayed in a spacious Japanese-style room✨ We were able to stay for around 5,000 yen a night without meals^_^ There was a large public bath in the basement and an open-air bath on the roof, so we could enjoy a relaxing bath😊 There was also a karaoke lounge and a kids' space😆 #StayingAtHome #Saga

#September Travel Grant Unlike other major Japanese cities, my trip to Saga was charmed by its tranquility and leisurely pace. The moment I arrived, I was struck by the tranquility and calm. While not flashy, each and every little detail added depth to my trip. My first stop was the Saga Castle History Museum. This restored castle ruin allowed me to experience the beauty of traditional architecture alongside the history and culture of Saga. The expansive gardens and wooden buildings made me feel like I had traveled back in time. I couldn't miss Ureshino Onsen, famous for its hot springs. Soaking in the clear, soothing waters melted away all my fatigue. Bathing in this tranquil village was a uniquely Saga experience. Furthermore, I was able to witness the beauty of traditional pottery up close at Arita Pottery Village. I toured a workshop and purchased a small teacup as a souvenir, which I believe will linger in my memory even after my trip. Throughout my trip, I felt that Saga is not a city filled with grand, flashy attractions, but rather a city of calm and profound charm. While traveling to Ureshino Onsen, I visited Chaoshiru, the Ureshino Tea Exchange Center, where I learned about the history of Ureshino tea. It's free for everyone, so you can learn about Ureshino tea while enjoying the cool air. ~ ... I particularly found the video at the very beginning of the exhibit, which demonstrates the traditional Ureshino tea brewing method, "hand-rolled, pan-fried tea," very interesting, and I highly recommend everyone check it out!!!
