#Talk about traveling to Kyoto and Uji on a budget. We used the Kyoto-Osaka Sightseeing Pass, which cost over 300 yen on the Keihan Railway. The map showing how to use the pass is in the last photo. It's helpful to understand how to use the pass. 📍Starting from Osaka, we got off at Yodobayashi Station. We started using the pass from here. We chose a QR code to scan and enter. - Kiyomizu-dera Temple: Get off at Kiyomizu-Gojō Station, a 20-minute walk. - Sannenzaka, a photo spot before Kiyomizu-dera Temple. - Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine: Take a bus from Kiyomizu-dera Temple for 230 yen. Cash or prepaid cards are required. - Uji City: 🍃 From the shrine, walk to Gion-Shijo Station, change lines at Chushojima Station, and get off at Uji Station. - Returning to Uji Station: Change lines at Chushojima, and get off at Yodobayashi Station. #SummerThemePark We entered at 11:30 AM and enjoyed ourselves until around 6 PM! We encountered a few issues, but the staff were always very kind and helpful. The exhibits were well worth seeing, and we really got a feel for Nintendo's history. It also made me want to support Nintendo's future. Some of the staff in the coin-operated game area seemed a little irritated, so if they could be a little more sociable, I'd enjoy playing more. Also, there were no food items in the souvenir section. I usually buy food souvenirs at theme parks, so I was a bit lost on what to buy. It would have been great if they had something small that could be given away. #Hydrangea A famous flower viewing spot in the Uji area of Kyoto Prefecture, the hydrangeas at Mimuroto-ji Temple are enormous, practically covering the entire mountain and valley with a sea of blossoms, not just potted plants for photo ops. The temple grounds aren't large, but the gardens are filled with beautiful hydrangeas in full bloom, making them quite captivating. Mimuroto-ji Temple boasts azaleas in the spring, hydrangeas and lotuses in the summer, and autumn foliage in the fall. It's a renowned flower viewing spot in the Kyoto suburbs. However, access is somewhat inconvenient. While there are buses from Uji Station, the service is infrequent and inconvenient, and the walk takes about 20 minutes. Entrance fee is 1,000 yen.

9/10🌟 Kushikatsu Daruma Shinsekai Famous kushikatsu restaurant. The fried food dipped in the sauce they provide is very delicious, but eating too much can be a bit greasy, so I ordered rice balls to eat with it. They go very well together. 6/10🌟 Ramen Shitenno Dotonbori Randomly went in because I was very hungry. Ordered the spicy one but it was a bit salty, so I only ate the noodles and pork. The gyoza and karaage chicken rice set were delicious. 9/10🌟 Tako Hashi Dotonbori Very delicious! Crispy outside, soft inside, the filling tastes great, the sauce is rich with just the right sweet and salty balance. But I deducted points because it burned my mouth. 10/10🌟 Butter Beer USJ Harry Potter zone The creamy foam on top is sweet, fragrant, soft, and delicious, similar to caramel mixed with butterscotch. The drink is fizzy. Muggles like us must not miss it. 8/10🌟 Three Broomsticks USJ Pork Ribs Meal The ribs are not very tender but marinated well. The corn comes as a cob, goes very well with the potatoes. But the chicken menu is a bit dry as per reviews. P.S. 100/10 for sitting and eating with a view of Hogwarts Castle. 10/10🌟 Yashinoya Some kind of pork rice set, very delicious! The pork is tender with just the right flavor. The set also includes soup. Good price, excellent! 9/10🌟 Cremia Soft serve ice cream, smooth with just the right sweetness. The cone is a cookie similar to Shiroi confectionery. Eating them together is very delicious. A must-try. 100/10🌟 Niku Ga Umai Mise Food Park near Uji A rice bowl shop that makes you never get bored. They use Wagyu beef that won the Wagyu Olympics. Tender, melts in your mouth. I ordered a marinated egg to add richness and got free rice refills. Meat lovers must not miss this! Want to go again. 10/10🌟 Nakamura Tokichi A matcha cafe with both drinks and desserts. Seems like everything is matcha with seaweed tone. The matcha ice cream is very delicious. Next door is a shop selling matcha and sweets to take home. 6/10🌟 Kura Sushi conveyor belt sushi Shinsekai branch Good price, lots of menu options. Tuna is delicious, but salmon is just okay. Uni is a bit fishy. Personally, I don’t like it because I feel some menu items at Sushiro in Thailand are fresher and tastier. For sushi lovers like me, I can eat the least here.

"Nakamura Tokichi Main Store" Matcha Desserts Even on a weekday, I waited two and a half hours for these matcha desserts 😍 So crazy! I went on a weekday and still had to wait 😵💫 ✨ Suggestion: Get a ticket at the store first, then go shopping while you wait. ✨ By the time I entered the restaurant, it was already past 3 PM, and many items were sold out 😭 ✨ The best matcha desserts I've ever had 😍 📍 Address: 10 Ichiban, Uji, Kyoto Prefecture 🕰️ Business Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM

This trip to Kyoto and Osaka is a Matcha Lover trip. I booked a round-trip ticket from Bangkok to Osaka flying with Vietnam Airlines, a Full Service airline, with a 3-hour layover in Hanoi. The layover was not long at all. I traveled on May 7th. Upon arrival, I took the HARUKA EXPRESS train straight to Kyoto Station. The main places visited were Kyoto, Uji, Universal Studios, and Osaka Castle. I was very impressed with Kyoto on this trip. Three days in Kyoto were definitely not enough because everything was great. Accommodation, food, and shopping areas were easy to find, just like in downtown Osaka, but importantly, it was not crowded. Next time, I plan to stay and explore Kyoto city for a longer time. For anyone looking for a travel destination in Japan, I highly recommend Kyoto city—it has an amazing vibe. 💰Average cost per person: Flight 12,300 THB + JR WEST PASS 3 Day 1,220 THB + Accommodation for 5 nights 6,200 THB per person. Food and shopping expenses vary depending on the individual.
