[Okayama] Beautiful Shurakuen Garden
Shurakuen (the garden of the former villa of the Tsuyama Domain) is a beautiful garden in Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture.
Even I, who am not particularly interested in gardens, was enchanted by its beauty.
The majority of the garden is taken up by a pond, and you can enjoy seasonal scenery such as cherry blossoms and autumn leaves.
In September 2002, the "Garden of the former villa of the Tsuyama Domain (Shurakuen)" was designated a national place of scenic beauty.
The Forest Art Festival, Sunny Country Okayama, is also being held until November 24th, and artworks are also on display.
Admission to the artworks in Shurakuen is free, so be sure to check it out.

[Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture] Cherry Blossom Festival at Kakuyama Park 🌸
#FuriTabiWinter
This is Tsuruyama Park in Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture! It is affectionately known as Oshiroyama by the locals 🙌
When you think of Oshiroyama, you think of cherry blossoms, and when you think of cherry blossoms, you think of Oshiroyama! 🌸
Every year during cherry blossom season, food stalls and other events are set up!
The park is large, so many people bring picnic sheets and eat bento boxes or food purchased from the stalls!
In this area, this is the place to go for cherry blossom viewing with the family!
Not only can you enjoy the cherry blossoms, but you can also see the castle town of Tsuyama from the top, and the view is also great! If you're in the area, be sure to stop by 🙆♀️
PORT ART&DESIGN TSUYAMA in Okayama.
An art gallery utilizing a building that was originally a bank.
The former Senoo Bank Hayashida Branch is a designated important cultural property of Okayama Prefecture.
When you visit, it's hard to believe this place was once a bank due to its stylishness and beauty.
The main highlight is said to be the single-board counter.
The architecture is a mix of Japanese and Western styles, with a wooden main building, a stone vault, and a courtyard with red brick tiles, among other attractions.
They regularly hold special exhibitions, workshops, and art events, and the Forest Art Festival Hareru no Kuni Okayama is currently being held until November 24th.
Historical Beauty
#traveldiaries
Tsuyama Castle was once one of the grandest castles in Japan, though only its foundations and some stone walls remain today. The area has been converted into Kakuzan Park, a lovely spot known for its cherry blossoms in spring. It offers stunning views over the city and mountains.
Tips:
• Best Time to Visit: Spring for cherry blossoms or autumn for the fall foliage.
• What to Bring: A picnic to enjoy under the sakura trees during spring.
• Don’t Miss: Explore the castle’s stone walls and imagine its historical grandeur.

Mochi Donuts
When Mister Donut first open in Singapore, there was a crazy queue of more than 3h but now at this branch, I can get a donut for less than 5 mins of queue! Finally got my hands on pon de ring and it was mochi chewy and delicious. However, it is really not worth queuing for hours in my opinion even though it is a good piece of donut. I would like to try the custard donuts the next time!! #familytrips2024
Okayama is the hometown of Momotaro
🐕Okayama Prefecture is famous for its rural scenery, where Kurashiki and picturesque canals are located. It is also convenient to go to Naoshima and Shodoshima from Okayama.
.
🐒Okayama Prefecture is also known as the 'Hometown of Momotaro'. Momotaro is a child who popped out of a peach core. With the help of monkeys, pheasants, and puppies, he defeated the man-eating monsters. There is a statue of Momotaro in the square of Okayama Railway Station (Figure 3️⃣), and the most popular souvenir in Okayama is also Momotaro's favorite dessert—millet dumplings🍡
