Bolton Cafe is located on Ashley Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. From afar, the white signboard with red letters catches your eye. 🤍❤️ The cafe's exterior and interior design are filled with the nostalgic charm of old Hong Kong. Inside, familiar oldies play, making you feel like you've traveled back to the 80s and 90s. 🎶 The environment is bright, comfortable, and clean, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.✨ Bolton Cafe offers a wide variety of dishes, including spaghetti, baked rice, noodle soup, cheesy instant noodles, snacks, sandwiches, and more.👍🏻 🤍 Char Siu Fried Egg Lard Rice (HKD88) The char siu is well-balanced with fat and lean meat, paired with a runny fried egg, lard bits, garlic, and scallions. You can add lard and soy sauce to taste.😍 The lard is very fragrant! Tsim Sha Tsui's Mody Road has always been a hotspot for Japanese cuisine, and it's conveniently located near K11. This Japanese restaurant is currently offering a Sunday to Thursday reservation discount, where two people spending over $500 can enjoy a 20% discount, which is a great deal. Seared Tuna Salad $118 We started with a salad to whet our appetite. The salad greens were fresh, topped with seared, semi-raw tuna. Black Truffle Salmon Roe and Scallop Roll $158 We also ordered this roll, which featured tender scallop sashimi, black truffle sauce, and salmon roe on top, with avocado and cucumber rolled inside. It had a rich texture and a delightful black truffle aroma. Tempura Moriawase Box $128 The box included shrimp, as well as fish fillets, okra, eggplant, pumpkin, and sweet potato vegetables. The tempura batter wasn't too thick, making it crispy and not too greasy. Thick Beef Tongue Skewers $58 The thick-cut beef tongue was chewy and flavorful, with just the right seasoning. Dengaku Grilled Tofu $32 I recommend the dengaku tofu skewers, which were hot and tender, with a distinctive dengaku sauce that was full of flavor. Ultimate Seafood Donburi $308 Of course, we couldn't miss out on a donburi. We chose the Ultimate Seafood Donburi, which included large fatty tuna, botan shrimp, large crab claws, grilled abalone, sea urchin, red snapper, deep-sea sweetfish, oilfish, salmon roe, and scallion tuna paste. It was incredibly satisfying with evenly marbled fatty tuna that melted in the mouth, smooth and flavorful sea urchin, well-seasoned grilled abalone, and other fresh sashimi. This small shop located in Tsim Sha Tsui specializes in eel, with a wooden interior design. We chose two types of eel rice boxes, both of which were exquisitely presented. First is the Eel Kaleidoscope for $98, with beautifully arranged slices of eel and a soft-boiled egg in the middle, served on rice with shredded egg. The Salamander Bowl for $198 is another signature dish, with a generous portion that's enough for two people. The giant eel is thick and covered in a rich sauce, making it perfect for social media. Underneath the eel is a thick layer of egg, making it quite satisfying. For an additional $30, you can get a soft-boiled egg, pickled vegetables, eel liver and white clam soup, and genmaicha tea. All of these structures are declared monuments. The Main Building The Hong Kong Marine Police occupied the Main Building between the 1880s to 1996, except during the Japanese Occupation. In 1996, the Marine Region moved to its current headquarters in Sai Wan Ho. The whole former venue at the 1881 heritage gave home to the Commander of the Marine Police, as well as the Captain Superintendent of the Police. The Time Ball TowerIn 1884, the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) was established. In that same year, the Time Ball Tower was constructed for the purpose of indicating the standard time for the marine community that sailed the then very busy Victoria Harbor. The Time Ball is of a six-foot diameter and mounted on a pole above the tower. There is a ball-raising mechanism. At 1pm sharp every day (except Sundays and public holidays), the ball would be raised manually and then dropped. This was done so that the vessels at the harbor could synchronize their on-board chronometers at the sight of the drop of the ball. The accuracy of the timing was kept meticulously.
