After my spa time, I strolled through the town’s peaceful parks and tree-lined streets, which were even more beautiful with the autumn leaves in full display. Nearby, you can also explore the historic Trenčín Castle, just a short drive away, which offers spectacular views of the region. 📌What kind of country is Slovakia? Slovakia is a small Central European country surrounded by Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Its capital, Bratislava, is about an hour by train from Vienna and is a popular stopover on European trips. Prices are cheaper than in Western Europe, and the cityscape retains a charming medieval atmosphere. Its appeal lies in its untouched tourist destination, where you can experience a taste of authentic Europe. And best of all, it's a city full of cafes! I'll explain my recommended cafes in Bratislava in more detail in my next post ♡ 🏰What is Trenčín? A fairytale-like castle town in western Slovakia. The town's symbol is Trenčín Castle, towering atop a hill. With its medieval cobblestone streets and laid-back atmosphere, it's perfect for those looking for a hidden gem away from the tourist hotspots. Even if you don't enter the castle, just walking up to it is a delightful sight. Orange rooftops, the gentle Váv River, and the Stražov Mountains stretching into the distance. This view is a quintessential Slovakian experience, combining medieval castles and nature. Slovakia is already relatively unknown, but this city, about an hour and a half to two hours by train from Bratislava, is particularly unique in that I didn't see a single Japanese person there. The Old Town is within walking distance from the station, making it easy to explore. Like the capital, Bratislava, it's less touristy, offering a glimpse into local life. It's the perfect place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Of course, there are plenty of lovely cafes, perfect for reading or working. 🚞Train reservations I recommend booking your train in advance on the official website. I often found that trains shown on Google Maps were not actually in the area. The second-class unreserved seats were fully booked, so I recommend paying an extra €1 for a reserved seat. You can enjoy a private room like in Harry Potter! 💺 ☕️ Recommended Cafe 📍Coffee Sheep Address: Matúšova 22, 911 01 Trenčín Hours: 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Hours vary on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, so please check. Recommended Points: A bright, well-lit space. Wi-Fi and power outlets are available, and it was bustling with locals. Trencin Castle, as one of the largest castle groups in Slovakia, is not only the highest point in Trencin and the entire Vah River Basin, but also an important symbol of Slovak history and culture. The castle was built in the 11th century AD and gradually developed and expanded on the basis of the original castle of the Great Moravian Principality. Its architectural form dates back to the 13th century, and it reached its peak in the late 13th and early 14th centuries, becoming the seat of the dynasty that ruled most of Slovakia. History However, Trencin Castle has also experienced many ups and downs. In the Trencin fire of 1790, the castle was unfortunately destroyed by fire. Fortunately, the lower level of the castle was renovated after the fire, and although full-scale reconstruction was not achieved until the 1950s, the castle still stands tall today, telling the story of its glorious history. Strong Defense The entire castle is surrounded by high walls and towers, with towers as high as 39 meters and walls as thick as 4 meters, making it perfectly resistant to external invasion. Standing high in the castle, you can overlook the entire city of Trencin and the beautiful scenery of the Vah River Basin, and feel the weight and solemnity of history. Exhibitions The interior of the castle is huge, with a wealth of historical relics and a museum. The museum displays precious artifacts such as the living utensils of the castle's owners, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the lifestyle and cultural background of the time. The Legend of the Well of Love In the castle, there is an ancient well called the "Well of Love". This well not only witnessed the historical changes of the castle, but also carries a romantic love story. According to legend, a young Turkish man named Tek Omar fell in love with a local girl named Fatima, but Fatima was captured and imprisoned in the castle by the local manor owner. In order to save his beloved, Tek Omar was forced to dig a well in the castle. After three years of hard work, he finally dug the well, and the manor owner released Fatima. From then on, the two lived happily together. Although this story has a certain legendary color, Trencin Castle is more known for its perseverance and dedication. Today, the "Well of Love" has become a place for couples to pray. They throw coins into the well, praying for the god of love to witness and protect their love. This romance and dedication has also made Trencin Castle a famous tourist attraction in Slovakia and even Europe.

Before I came, I didn't think a church⛪️ could have such a dreamy color, really! I'm not exaggerating, it's really super dreamy here, definitely a niche travel destination worth checking out📸! 📍St. Elizabeth's Cathedral You can see this church⛪️ from afar at the street corner, and I really want to rush over and hug it, it completely hits my girly heart, doesn't it! The large amount of sky blue and white combination is very unlike a church, so cute, just like something out of a fairy tale, stunning!💕 📍Bratislava Castle Located in Hrad Square north of the old town, this two-story ivory palace🏰 building is elegant and grand. Climbing up the castle and looking out, the Danube River looks like a blue dress👗, and the bridges spanning the river look like ribbons tied around a girl's waist. 📍Trenčín Castle One of the largest castle complexes🏰 in Slovakia, its history can be traced back to the Roman Empire era. It suffered a fire🔥 in 1790 and became ruins until it was fully rebuilt in the 1950s, which is the form we see today. The entire Trenčín Castle🏰 is surrounded by high walls and towers, with a spiral path leading up the mountain; inside the castle, there are several palaces of different sizes. 📍Roland Fountain The Roland Fountain⛲ is located in the main square♥ of Bratislava, and it is one of the iconic landmarks. The Baroque-style sculptural fountain is not only beautiful but also had a firefighting🧯 function at the time, just like the large vats in the Forbidden City. The fountain is lit up in the evening, so if you're not in a hurry, you can wait until night, it's even more beautiful! 📍Manhole Cover Statue In the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava, the most famous statue🗿 is probably this 'Man at Work'.
