4+5 days in Japan and China in October 2024
Day 1: Inaugural direct flight from Kaohsiung to Okayama (with a water gate ceremony). After deplaning, turn right at the airport and you'll be met by the car rental company. We'll head straight to Kurashiki to admire its beauty at night.
Day 2: Enjoy the beauty of Kurashiki, experiencing its different atmosphere at night. In the afternoon, we'll head straight to Matsue Castle, fulfilling our goal of collecting the Five National Treasure Cities (April 5th). We'll stay at Kaike Onsen that night.
Day 3: Visit Yura Conan Town. Arrive at the Tottori Sand Dunes around noon. Stay at Yuhara Onsen that night.
Day 4: Yuhara Onsen has an open-air mixed bath next to a dam, perfect for a stroll. We originally planned to return to Kaohsiung today, but the typhoon canceled our flight. We immediately extended our car rental, rescheduled our flight, activated our inconvenience insurance, and arranged a trip to Hiroshima. We'll stay in Kurashiki that night.
Day 5: Visit Onomichi City and Senkoji Temple, arriving in Hiroshima in the afternoon.
Day 6: Take a boat to Itsukushima Shrine, returning to Kurashiki in the afternoon.
Day Day 7: Bizen Okayama Kyobashi Morning Market, Okayama Castle, Kibitsu Shrine, and Mogami Inari Torii Gate
Day 8: Fukuyama Castle, souvenir shopping at Okayama Station
Day 9: Flight back to Taiwan
[Must-See Attractions]
1. Matsue Castle, a Five National Treasure of Japan. The stairs inside are narrow and steep, so be careful when climbing.
2. At Tottori Sand Dunes, it's recommended to park your car at the observation deck (free parking) and take the cable car down to the dunes. You can browse two souvenir shops at once. Those with more stamina can challenge the steep slopes and experience the thrill of taking one step forward and three steps back.
3. Senkoji Temple is a tranquil Buddhist temple. Take the cable car up and walk along the narrow cat path on the way down, which is a delightful experience.
4. Itsukushima Shrine (If time permits, be sure to experience the high and low tides for the day).
[Must-Try Foods]
1. Onomichi Ramen and Fried Rice (Strong flavor and fragrant, recommended for Onomichi visitors)
2. Umenogi Miso Pork Cutlet (In my opinion, the best pork cutlet rice in Japan)
Hotel Name
Day 1: Dormy Inn Hotel (Free late-night noodles, free ice cream and massage chairs in the public pool)
Day 2: Kyotei Kikuman (An antique Japanese-style hot spring hotel)
Day 3: Yuhara Kikunoyu Kokusai Kanko Hotel (An old-fashioned Japanese inn with three public pools. I highly recommend the rooftop public pool for a tranquil experience surrounded by mountains)
Day 4: Kurashiki Royal Park Hotel (A luxurious hotel with modern amenities and many foreigners)
Day 5: Hiroshima Intergate (Free afternoon snack bar and a variety of red and white wines. Ask for "hidden cocktails" at the bar)
Day 6: Hotel Livemax (Consider this if you're on a budget)
Day 7: ANA Crowne Plaza Okayama (Beautiful views from the upper floors, average breakfast)
