7 days in Sanya, Hainan
Review of Sanya: A Week of Beach Bliss
Sanya, located on the southern coast of Hainan Island in China, is a paradise for beach lovers. I recently spent a week exploring this tropical gem, and here’s a rundown of my experience.
Arriving in Sanya, I headed straight to Yalong Bay, often hailed as the most beautiful beach in the region. The beach's pristine white sand and clear turquoise water were breathtaking. The area was well-developed with luxurious resorts lining the shore, offering stunning views and easy beach access. The calm waters made it perfect for a relaxing swim.
On the second day, I visited Tianya Haijiao, a famous scenic spot about 30 kilometers from Sanya. This place, translating to “The Ends of the Earth and The Corner of the Sea,” features picturesque rock formations against a backdrop of endless ocean. It’s an iconic spot for photos and offers a more rugged beach experience with beautiful views.
Dadonghai Beach was next on my itinerary. It's closer to downtown Sanya and has a lively, bustling atmosphere. The beach was well-maintained, and I enjoyed the various water sports available, including jet skiing and parasailing. The promenade had a range of eateries and shops, making it a great place to spend the day.
Sanya Bay provided a more relaxed vibe. The beach stretches for several kilometers, and while it’s less developed than Yalong Bay, it offers a lovely view of the sunset. The sandy stretch is ideal for long walks, and the cooler evening breeze made it a pleasant place to unwind.
For my final day, I indulged in a leisurely experience at my resort’s private beach. With top-notch facilities and attentive service, it was the perfect way to conclude my trip. I spent the day lounging by the sea, enjoying spa treatments, and savoring delicious seafood.
Sanya is a fantastic destination for a beach-centric getaway. Each beach offers a unique experience, from the luxury of Yalong Bay to the lively atmosphere of Dadonghai and the serenity of Sanya Bay. Whether you're into water sports, cultural sites, or simply relaxing by the ocean, Sanya has something to offer.
