I signed up for three one-day tours at an all-inclusive hotel in Cancun. Chichen Itza is a beautiful place, however the cost to enter the park should be added to the cost that is advertised. After book, $30 US dollar fee to enter the park. The National park itself was too hot. please wear light shirt or something more thin. Chichen Itza as we know is an ancient Maya city in Mexico that was abandoned in the 15th century. Now a UNESCO World Heritage-listed archaeological park, its intact temples, and famous stepped pyramids may be explored during this comprehensive guided tour, which tops off fun-filled history lessons with a visit to the colonial town of Valladolid and a swim in a sacred limestone waterhole. The cenote is about 60 metres (200 ft) in diameter and about 50 metres (164 ft) deep.There are vines which reach from the opening all the way down to the water along with small waterfalls. There are black catfish which swim in the cenote. The cenote is part of a larger complex of a restaurant, store, changing rooms, and cottages for rent. There is also a Mayan ruin on the site. Getting There - I highly recommend taking a bus tour as it’s a long ride. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The bus will also stop a few places - such as a Mayan town and a Cenote to swim. Attractions - The ruins of Chichén Itza Hotels - Stay anywhere in Cancun and get the bus. Food & Restaurants - Lunch will be provided after visiting Chichén Itza. It is included in the bud price. It was basically a buffet with tons of options . Finding a hotel that is suitable for appreciating Mayan civilization while making it easy to attend the night light show really affects the overall travel experience. Tinum is most famous for its Chichen Itza ruins and the pyramid of Kukulkan at night. Night show entry time is 7pm, show about an hour and a half, it is recommended to go out of the hotel a little early to queue, tickets are more expensive than day show (about 772 pesos, day 671), but night fans worth the ticket price! For a comfortable stay in Tinum, close to Chichen Itza, consider staying at Hacienda Chichen Resort & Yaxkin Spa. It is super conveniently located, only a five-minute walk from the site, watching the show at night and returning to the hotel is safe, and the garden environment surrounds the ancient houses of the colonial period, the shadows of the trees are more story than the day tour. The interior decoration retains the traditional style, and it feels like you can take beautiful photos anywhere. Transportation from Hacienda Chichen Resort is easy to get to Tinum town center or bus station by taxi, and the hotel has free parking if there is no pressure to drive. Amenities include swimming pool, spa, massage is particularly popular - come back after night activities, try Maya themed massage, relax! Service, the staff is very friendly, English communication is not difficult, will take the initiative to explain to you the surrounding itinerary, including how to buy lighting show tickets and entry route, small tips can be booked at the hotel, do not have to go to the scenic spot queue. This time, I’ll introduce Chichen Itza, the most famous and easily accessible Mayan ruins in Mexico 🌟 📍Chichen Itza Located on the Yucatan Peninsula, Chichen Itza is a renowned Mayan archaeological site. Fun fact: the ruins inspired the design of the Indiana Jones attraction building at DisneySea! The most common way to visit is from Cancun. I opted for a tour since the cost of transportation was not significantly different from going solo. The tour not only covers Chichen Itza but also includes stops at a cenote, tequila tasting, a Mexican buffet, and visits to charming towns along the way 🌮🍻 The Yucatan Peninsula is a hot and humid region in Mexico, so make sure to prepare for the heat 🫠. On the day I visited, the temperature peaked at 41°C. The sunlight is intense and unlike anything in Japan 🌞. Be cautious as there’s little shade while exploring the ruins. As for the cenote, you can choose whether to swim or not. If you decide to swim, you’ll need to pay extra for a life jacket. Since I can’t swim, I opted to wait outside. There are open-air cafes and restaurants where you can relax during the wait. For those who want to swim, shower facilities are available, so no worries. While English isn’t widely spoken in Mexico, it can be a bit daunting for those unfamiliar with international travel. However, joining a tour ensures that English-speaking staff will guide you through various spots, making it stress-free. Covering so many attractions on the Yucatan Peninsula in just one day makes tours highly recommended ☺️

While on our honeymoon in Cancun, we took a day trip to the World Heritage Site of Chichen Itza. A Japanese guide organized a tour exclusively for Japanese people. (I looked online and found that there weren't many options, so I think most of them were from the same agent! (^^)!) El Castillo (the pyramid), a symbol of Mayan civilization, was even more impressive than it appears in photos; it was breathtaking. The vast grounds are home to temples and ball courts, and it was a valuable experience experiencing the lives and beliefs of ancient people. We also enjoyed swimming in a cenote! The stories of Mayan history were fascinating. Although there were many tourists, the area was spacious and not cramped, and walking while listening to the guide's explanations was more moving than just touring ruins. The sun was very strong, so a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water were essential. From the ball court to the sacred cenote, every corner feels like it’s whispering stories from way back. It gets super hot, though, so come early or late and definitely bring water, a hat, and comfy shoes. The site’s about two hours from Cancún or Mérida, and tours are easy to find if you want a guide to explain all the cool stuff. Even if you’re not a history buff, the scale and vibe of Chichén Itzá will get to you. It’s one of those places that sticks in your head long after you leave.
