The best patin tempoyak i ever tasted. Thick spicy gulai that sears your tongue yet feeling so good from the durian aftertaste.
Fish is cooked perfectly, flesh so soft and moist. The most excellent taste. Staffs were amazing, seating is spacious, a lot of open free parking area to park. Variety food, child friendly environment and they also provided free drinks on Friday.

Restoran Johan Patin Temerloh 🐟✨
Initially I wanted to eat tempoyak patin at a different restaurant, but for a wrong turn, accidentally I discovered this new place. For lovers of tempoyak, I would recommend this place. The tempoyak gravy itself is thick, not watered down, and it has its own unique blend of tempoyak and spices. I am glad I took the wrong turn this time. 👀
Many people come here for the patin tempoyak and kampong food in general. All of the food is good and delicious with all the various lauk pauk. 🥘
Very recommended place to come for having lunch with anyone. variant of food, delicious & affordable. Easy to find parking. 👍🏻✨

Temerloh, Pahang
Temerloh, Pahang is a pleasant riverside town known as the home of ikan patin. The signature dish, ikan patin masak tempoyak, is a must-try for anyone visiting. The town has a calm and relaxing atmosphere, with the Pahang River running through it, giving beautiful views especially in the evening. You can also explore the local markets, taste authentic Malay food, and enjoy the slower pace of life. Free Entry: Pahang National Elephant Conservation Centre 🇲🇾🐘
#springitinerary
Just about 1.5 hours from Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre is free to enter!
📍 Opens at 10:30 AM, and before entering, visitors need to fill in some basic personal details. Staff will kindly ask if you’d like to donate — it's completely optional, not mandatory.
Once inside the sanctuary, you can:
Feed the elephants up close (Sugarcane RM3 / Bananas RM5)
Take photos with them
Watch the elephant show at 11:15 AM, where the elephants demonstrate training exercises like picking up coins and branches with their trunks, spraying water, lying down, and standing up.
Since this is a conservation centre, the elephants are treated humanely — no elephant rides or circus-like acts. 🐘
There's also an elephant bathing session at 2:15 PM, but ours was canceled due to high river levels that day. Hopefully next time!
Highly recommend visiting, especially for families with kids — and the best part? It’s free!
📸 See attached photos & timetable.

🐘 Gentle Giants & Quiet Lessons 🌿🛤️
#gentingtrip
Just under two hours from Kuala Lumpur, hidden in the lush heart of Pahang, lies a place where the wild meets the compassionate: the National Elephant Conservation Centre (NECC) Kuala Gandah. It’s not your typical tourist spot—it’s a sanctuary with a soul.
Upon arrival, the atmosphere is serene. The air carries a mix of earthy scents and anticipation. The center, established in 1989, serves as a haven for elephants displaced by habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict . Here, the focus is on rehabilitation and education, not entertainment.
The experience begins with an informative video detailing the center’s mission and the challenges faced by Malaysia’s elephant population. It’s a sobering reminder of the impact of deforestation and development.
Walking through the sanctuary, you encounter elephants of various ages, each with its own story. Feeding sessions allow for close interaction—offering sugarcane to a gentle giant is both humbling and exhilarating. However, activities like elephant rides and bathing have been discontinued to prioritize the well-being of the animals .
Guided tours, available for a nominal fee, enrich the visit with insights into elephant behavior and conservation efforts . The staff’s dedication is evident, though some facilities could benefit from updates.
It’s worth noting that while the center strives for the best, some elephants exhibit stereotypic behaviors—a sign of the challenges in captive environments. Efforts are ongoing to improve enrichment and living conditions .
Pro Tips:
• Admission: Free, but donations are appreciated to support conservation efforts.
• Best Time to Visit: Mornings, to avoid crowds and heat.
• What to Bring: Comfortable shoes, insect repellent, and a respectful attitude.

Beautiful view of Temerloh town!!
City with old and new resemblance. From the buildings to the people, from culture to life, that’s the beauty of it. Had the chance to enjoy the sunset in one of the signature hotel in town. Such an enjoyable moment. With the slight breeze and a cup of hot coffee in the late evening, this reminds me that I should call it a day.

Walking in
Walking into Casa Refleksologi, I was greeted by a soothing scent of essential oils and soft instrumental music playing in the background. The reception area was clean, and the staff welcomed me with warm smiles, instantly making me feel at ease. I’ve chosen foot reflexology + shoulder massage.
The therapist started with a gentle foot soak before leading me to a dimly lit massage room. As she applied pressure to different points on my feet, I could feel tension releasing, but some areas were surprisingly tender. She explained that these points correspond to different organs, and I found it fascinating!
Overall, my experience at Casa Refleksologi was fantastic. The staff was professional, the environment was peaceful, and the massage left me feeling rejuvenated. If you’re in Mentakab and need a good reflexology session, I’d highly recommend giving them a try!

(I can’t find the Mentakab location, so i tag their Temerloh location)

Awareness of Endangered Animals at Kuala Gandah
#traveldiaries
The Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre is a special place in Malaysia that focuses on raising awareness about endangered animals, especially elephants. Located in Pahang, this centre is home to many Asian elephants, some of which have been rescued from dangerous situations like deforestation or conflict with humans.
Visiting Kuala Gandah is an eye-opening experience. The centre gives people the chance to learn about the challenges these animals face and how important it is to protect them. Elephants, for example, are often endangered due to habitat loss, illegal poaching for ivory, and conflicts with farmers. The centre helps spread the message that we need to protect these magnificent creatures and conserve their habitats.
One of the highlights of the visit is seeing the elephants up close. Visitors can watch them being fed and even join in on some feeding sessions. The centre’s team also educates the public on how they care for the elephants and their efforts to relocate and rehabilitate those rescued from dangerous environments.
What makes the experience even more meaningful is learning how conservation efforts play a big role in keeping endangered animals like elephants safe. The centre’s work goes beyond just taking care of the elephants—they are also involved in reforestation projects and raising awareness about how humans and wildlife can coexist peacefully.

Conquering Gunung Senyum: A Smile-Worthy Adventure!
#hikingtime
I recently hiked Gunung Senyum, and it was an unforgettable experience! The 5-hour journey was challenging, but the breathtaking views from the top made it all worthwhile. The initial ease of the hike lulled me into a false sense of security, but the steep cliffs and narrow paths that followed kept me on my toes. Despite the difficulties, the sense of accomplishment I felt when I reached the summit was incredible.
The panoramic views of the surrounding landscape left me beaming with joy - hence the "smiling mountain" moniker! If you're up for a challenge, Gunung Senyum is a must-visit destination.
